Nous recherchons dès que possible un Chercheur scientifique dans le domaine de la relation microstructure – comportement réactif des explosifs (H/F) pour notre groupe scientifique PCD (Physique des Chocs et Détonique).

Vos missions / activités

  • Développer des approches expérimentales et numériques visant à étudier les relations entre microstructure et comportement réactif des matériaux et formulations énergétiques
  • Exploiter des techniques avancées de caractérisation des défauts microstructuraux, notamment la microtomographie X et les méthodes associées de traitement d’images
  • Utiliser et développer des méthodologies et des outils spécifiques de traitement de données et d’analyse quantitative
  • Participer à des projets scientifiques collaboratifs avec des partenaires industriels et institutionnels et à des campagnes expérimentales
  • Valoriser les résultats scientifiques par des publications et des présentations lors de conférences internationales

Votre profil

  • Doctorat requis en physique, mécanique, science des matériaux, imagerie scientifique ou domaine équivalent
  • Solides connaissances en traitement d’images, caractérisation microstructurale ou méthodes d’analyse quantitative
  • Une expérience en microtomographie X constituerait un atout
  • Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe dans un environnement de recherche multidisciplinaire
  • Bonnes capacités de communication et d’organisation
  • Bonne maîtrise de l’anglais indispensable
  • La connaissance de l’allemand constituerait un avantage apprécié

Das Deutsch-Französische Forschungsinstitut Saint-Louis (ISL), im Dreiländereck Deutschland – Frankreich – Schweiz, ist eine international anerkannte und in einem globalen wissenschaftlich-industriellen Netzwerk verankerte Forschungseinrichtung. Unsere Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf verschiedenen sicherheits- und verteidigungsrelevanten Gebieten. Wir arbeiten sowohl im Bereich der Grundlagenforschung als auch anwendungsorientiert. Dabei gewinnt die Nutzung unserer Forschungsergebnisse auch für zivile Anwendungen zunehmend an Bedeutung.

Für unsere Gruppe PCD (Stoßwellen und Detonik) suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine/-n Wissenschaftler zur Erforschung der Verbindung zwischen der Mikrostruktur und dem Reaktionsverhalten von Sprengstoffen (m/w/d).

Ihre Aufgaben

  • Entwicklung von experimentellen und numerischen Ansätzen zur Untersuchung der Beziehungen zwischen der Mikrostruktur und dem Reaktionsverhalten von energetischen Materialien und Formulierungen
  • Nutzung der fortgeschrittenen Techniken zur Charakterisierung der Mikro-Fehlstelle in der Struktur, insbesondere durch Röntgen-Microtomografie und die damit verbundenen Bildbearbeitungsverfahren
  • Nutzung und Entwicklung von spezifischen Verfahrensweisen und Tools zur Datenverarbeitung und Mengenanalyse
  • Teilnahme an wissenschaftlichen Projekten mit Industriefirmen und Behörden und an Versuchsreihen
  • Verwertung der wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse durch Veröffentlichungen und Präsentation bei internationalen Konferenzen.
  • Abgeschlossene Dissertation (Physik, Maschinenbau, Werkstoffwissenschaft, wissenschaftliche Bildgebung oder gleichwertig)
  • Fundierte Kenntnisse in der Bildbearbeitung, der mikrostrukturellen Charakterisierung oder in Verfahren der Mengenanalyse
  • Eine einschlägige Erfahrung im Bereich der Röntgen-Mikrotomografie wäre von Vorteil
  • Selbstständiges Arbeiten und gleichzeitig teamfähig, in einem multidisziplinären Forschungsumfeld
  • Organisations- und Kommunikationstalent
  • Sie besitzen gute Kenntnisse der englischen Sprache
  • Gute Kenntnisse der französischen Sprache wären von Vorteil

For immediate placement, we are currently looking for a Research Scientist in the relation between microstructure and reactive behaviour of explosives (m/f/d) in our scientific Group PCD (Shock wave physics and Detonics).

Your new tasks and responsibilities – challenging and future-oriented

  • Develop experimental and numerical approaches to study the relation between microstructure and reactive behaviour of energetic materials and formulations
  • Use advanced techniques for the characterisation of microstructural defects, particularly X-ray microtomography and associated image-processing methods
  • Use and develop specific data treatment and quantitative analysis methodologies and tools
  • Take part in collaborative scientific projects with industrial and official partners, as well as in experimental campaigns
  • Disseminate the scientific results with publications and presentations at international conferences

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate

  • PhD in the field of physics, mechanics, material science, scientific imaging or in an equivalent field
  • Deep knowledge of image processing, microstructural characterization or methods of quantitative analysis
  • Work experience in X-ray microtomography would be an asset
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team in a pluridisciplinary research environment
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Good command of English
  • A good command of French and/or German would be an asset
  • A highly motivated team with a culture of knowledge-sharing in an international an pluridisciplinary environment
