VPU Context:

The WBG Budget and Procurement (WBP) is organized into five Departments: WBP Centers of Excellence (WBPCE) with teams supporting the corporate strategic business and budget planning process, providing WBP systems, knowledge, and shared services; WBP IBRD/IDA Regional Units (WBPRU) with teams supporting IBRD/IDA clients in the regions; WBP IFC/MIGA Budget Partners (CSRDR) with teams supporting IFC/MIGA clients in the HQ and the regions; WBP Corporate Units (WBPCU) with teams supporting the Knowledge Bank and corporate units and providing capital budget support; and WBP Corporate Procurement (WBPCP) with teams providing group-wide procurement services.
Unit Context:  
Corporate Procurement supports the WBG’s mission by delivering procurement services guided by the principles of best value, sound business judgment, competitiveness, transparency, and fairness. The function oversees sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and contract execution for more than 130 offices worldwide, serving clients through teams based in Washington, D.C., Chennai, and Sofia.

The Center of Excellence (COE) serves as the engine for procurement modernization across the World Bank Group. Operating at the intersection of procurement, technology, analytics, artificial intelligence, innovation, and change management, the COE identifies and implements capabilities that improve effectiveness, enhance stakeholder experience, strengthen decision-making, and accelerate transformational outcomes.
Procurement Analyst (DMO)  designs and manages procurement data products, data models, and analytics solutions that enable trusted, self-service insights across Corporate Procurement. Leverages data science and analytics to support strategic decision-making, strengthens data governance and quality, and partners with procurement, ITS, and business stakeholders to advance data-driven transformation and continuous improvement.
Duties and accountabilities: 
1. Design, develop, and maintain procurement data models, analytical datasets, and semantic layers that enable scalable, trusted, and self-service analytics across Corporate Procurement.
2. Build and optimize reusable data products, performance metrics, reporting frameworks, and dashboard architectures that improve accessibility, consistency, and adoption of procurement insights and data-driven decision making.
3. Apply advanced analytical techniques, data science methodologies, and emerging technologies to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights that support procurement strategy, supplier management, sustainability, and risk management objectives.
4. Support procurement data governance by establishing and maintaining data standards, quality controls, metadata, business definitions, and data lineage documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational requirements.
5. Partner with procurement teams, ITS, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions while advancing data modernization, automation, continuous improvement, and adoption of data-driven practices across Corporate Procurement.

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data management, data science, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience designing analytical data models, semantic layers, and self-service analytics environments.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and information management principles.
• Experience working with modern BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI, Fabric, Tableau, or similar technologies. 
• Experience using SQL, Python, DAX, Power Query, or comparable analytical tools.
• Experience developing predictive, statistical, or advanced analytical models is desirable.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets and translating business requirements into analytical solutions.
