Founded in 1933 at Albert Einstein’s request, the IRC operates in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities.

Thailand hosts more than 90,000 verified refugees in nine camps along the Thai-Myanmar border, one of the world’s longest-running refugee situations. Recent policies allowing refugees to work legally present important opportunities for self-reliance and social cohesion, but require continued advocacy, technical support, and coordination. At the same time, maintaining essential services, particularly health care, remains critical as the government advances the transition of camp services.
