Introduction

The successful applicant will be requested to perform the following main tasks and responsibilities:

The Lisbon Addictions conference represents a major communications undertaking requiring significant preparatory work, coordination with multiple stakeholders, and intensive support before, during and after the event. The trainee would provide additional capacity to ensure the timely delivery of communications activities managed by the EUDA and help maintain the quality and effectiveness of event-related outreach and engagement.

  • Support communications campaigns and content production. Assist in creating, updating and disseminating promotional and informational content for events, publications and other communication activities; draft, edit and proofread content in English for different communication channels.
  • Support event communications planning and delivery. Contribute to the planning and implementation of communications activities linked to the Lisbon Addictions Conference, the unit’s framework contract projects supporting the agency’s Communication Strategy, and other external events; assist with communication timelines, content scheduling and coordination of deliverables.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and contractors. Assist with organising meetings, coordinating with external contractors and maintaining effective communication with internal colleagues and external partners; follow up on actions and support day-to-day project coordination.
  • Manage communications assets and event materials. Prepare, update and organise communication and event materials, including presentations, signage, publications and digital assets, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely availability.
  • Provide operational support for events. Contribute to the successful delivery of the Lisbon Addictions Conference and other events by providing practical communications and logistical support before, during and after events, including registration, speaker support and on-site coordination.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, Norway or Türkiye.
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service.
  • Be physically fit to perform the duties of the post.
  • Have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications.
  • Have obtained the most recent higher education degree (graduate, postgraduate or doctoral) no more than three years before the deadline for applications.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of oral and written English.

General selection requirements:

  • Digital and technical curiosity.

Profile-specific selection requirements:

  • A university degree in communication, PR, journalism, event organisation, project management or languages.
  • Project management experience or training.
  • Experience in organising events/conferences.
  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese.
  • Highly organised and outgoing.
