About the job:

Based in Mons  you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join The NATO Infrastructure Services Centre (NISC) which is accountable for planning and executing the full lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for the identified area of responsibility. NISC provides generic, domain independent, technical functionality that enables and facilitates the operation and use of Information Technology resources.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic  Network Service Engineer -NaaS  (internally this pos ition is titled Engineer (Digital Communications Services)who will take on the following roles and responsibilities: 

  • Perform NaaS (WAN, LAN, VPN, WIFI etc.) Infrastructure and services fault diagnostics throughout NATO sites, utilizing a number of management platforms (e.g. CA Spectrum, HP NA, Netscout, Cisco Prime and DNA, Nokia NSP, Splunk).

  • Support programme, project and service managers in preparation and implementation of new projects and improvement of existing services.

  • Execute site surveys, technical inspections, validations and system acceptance testing into NATO General Communication Services (NGCS) NaaS infrastructure, proposing follow-up actions regarding the resolving of deficiencies; 

  • Provides consultative support, including setting up demonstrations, explaining features and benefits to customers, designing solutions, configuring and services to meet specific customer business needs and objectives.

About you:

 The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are: 

A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience. Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

At least 2 years’ experience:

  • In all aspects of deployment, maintenance, repair, modification and operation of multivendor (e.g. Cisco, Nokia, Dell) Routing (WAN) and Switching (LAN), as well as Enterprise environments;
  • With configuration and operation of HP Network Automation or equivalent network automation and orchestration systems;
  • With configuration and operation of Network Monitoring and Event Management systems, e.g. CA Spectrum, HP NA, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA and Splunk;
  • Working in a centrally managed network environment
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

 Certifications:

Valid Cisco Professional Certification or other vendor network professional certifications are mandatory. Expired certifications will not be considered.
