Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.UNEP-CCC is a leading international advisory institution on energy, climate and sustainable development. Its work focuses on helping developing countries and emerging economies transition to low-carbon development pathways and supporting the integration of climate resilience into national development. UNEP-CCC is actively involved in the implementation of the UN Environment Climate Change Strategy and Energy Programme. The Capacity-building Initiative for Transparency - Global Support Programme (CBIT-GSP) is a five-year global climate transparency project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and executed by the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC). The project is aimed at supporting developing countries in the implementation of the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) under the Paris Agreement. Through regional networks, technical assistance, training, peer learning, knowledge products and partnerships, CBIT-GSP has supported more than 140 developing countries in preparing for and implementing their transparency obligations. As the programme approaches completion, UNEP seeks to document and communicate the achievements, lessons learned, and broader impact of the programme through a high-quality end-of-project communications package. The package will demonstrate the programme's contribution to strengthening climate transparency systems globally while providing compelling stories of change from countries and partners. The purpose of this consultancy is to develop a professional end-of-project communications package that effectively communicates the achievements, impact and legacy of the CBIT-GSP. The assignment combines strategic storytelling, visual communication, digital media and stakeholder engagement to translate technical programme results into compelling narratives for diverse audiences. The objective of this consultancy is to develop a high quality end of project impact report and related communication assets that effectively documents, visualizes and communicates the impact, results and lessons learned of the project. The consultancy will develop a visually compelling, evidence-based End-of-Project Impact Report that effectively communicates the achievements, results and broader impact of the project to a wide range of audiences, including donors, governments, implementing partners and the global climate transparency community. In addition, the consultant will document and showcase tangible programme results through compelling impact stories that highlight country experiences, regional collaboration and institutional strengthening. The consultancy will also produce a suite of multimedia communication products, including social media assets and short video interviews featuring beneficiaries, partners and collaborators, to enhance the visibility and outreach of the programme. A key aspect of the assignment will be translating complex technical information into clear, engaging and accessible communication products suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences. Collectively, these outputs will form a comprehensive end-of-project communications package that documents the programme's achievements, captures lessons learned, strengthens its legacy, supports knowledge sharing and provides high-quality communication assets for donor reporting and future resource mobilization efforts.
