Mission and objectives
Founded in 1948, WHO is the United Nations agency that connects nations, partners and people to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of health.
Context
Working with 194 Member States, across six regions, and from more than 150 offices, WHO staff are united in the shared commitment to achieve better health for everyone, everywhere. Together we strive to combat diseases – communicable diseases like influenza and HIV, and non-communicable diseases like cancer and heart disease. We help mothers and children survive and thrive so they can look forward to a healthy old age. We ensure the safety of the air people breathe, the food they eat, the water they drink – and the medicines and vaccines they need. Our primary role is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations system. Our main areas of work are health systems; health through the life-course; immunization; digitalization of health system; non-communicable and communicable diseases; preparedness, surveillance and response; and corporate services.
In today’s digital-first environment, effective outreach requires more than information alone. To reach and engage audiences meaningfully, organizations must invest in high-quality visual and multimedia content. Strong graphic design, compelling videos, and clear, concise key messages are essential to cut through information overload, build trust, and ensure messages are understood and remembered. Quality visuals and videos significantly enhance visibility, credibility, and reach across digital platforms, making them a critical component of modern communication and advocacy efforts.
