Mission and objectives
The Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) supports more inclusive, transparent, accountable and effective governance systems. The Centre identifies persistent development challenges with governance at their core, and applies research, analysis, learning, and UNDP’s convening capabilities to develop, test, and advance practical policy alternatives and solutions
Context
The Global Policy Centre for Governance provides evidence, research, and policy guidance that strengthen governance systems globally. A core area of work is SDG 16 measurement, reporting, and governance data analytics. This assignment will support the Centre’s custodianship role on selected SDG 16 indicators, efforts to strengthen national governance statistics systems, and data sharing and interoperability across national governance systems.
A core area of the Centre’s work is support to SDG 16, including global and country level efforts to strengthen the measurement, reporting, and use of SDG 16 indicators. Through its governance data and analytics work, and in particular, its custodianship role for select SDG 16 indicators the Centre plays a leading role in advancing governance statistics, supporting national capacity development, contributing to global SDG 16 reporting, and engaging in strategic discussions on the future of governance measurement, including in the context of the post 2030 development framework. Beyond its custodianship role, the Centre develops integrated policy alternatives and solutions to strengthen data sharing, interoperability, transparency and evidence-based decision making.

Task description
Under the overall guidance and supervision of Programme Coordinator, the Governance Data and Analytics Specialist will ;
• Support knowledge sharing and learning on SDG 16 and governance statistics
• Contribute to research, policy development, and strategic engagement on SDG 16
• Support capacity strengthening and advocacy activities related to SDG 16 measurement
• Contribute to the development of accessible knowledge products (briefs, dashboards, reports).
