Introduction

The successful applicant will be requested to perform the following main tasks and responsibilities:

The traineeship will provide hands-on experience of a full application development lifecycle within a real organisational setting, enabling the trainee to gain insight into how digital solutions are planned, designed, implemented and delivered in support of business needs, using a low-code platform.

  • Contribute to the identification and definition of a concrete business use case, including the analysis, structuring and documentation of functional and technical requirements in close interaction with stakeholders.
  • Design, develop and iteratively refine a Mendix-based application, taking an active role in shaping the solution through model-driven, low-code development approaches. Where feasible, the trainee may choose to work towards a recognised Mendix certification as an optional element of their professional development.
  • Independently drive substantial parts of the development process in a supervised but autonomous manner, including implementation, testing and documentation of the solution.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, validating requirements and demonstrating developed functionalities to ensure alignment with organisational needs.
  • Support the management of the application lifecycle, including version control (e.g. GitHub), quality assurance and preparation for deployment in a production environment.
  • Gain practical knowledge of key enterprise ICT concepts, such as authentication mechanisms, system integration, cybersecurity and data protection considerations.
  • Prepare user and technical documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing activities related to the developed solution.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, Norway or Türkiye.
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service.
  • Be physically fit to perform the duties of the post.
  • Have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications.
  • Have obtained the most recent higher education degree (graduate, postgraduate or doctoral) no more than three years before the deadline for applications.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of oral and written English.
