Senior Business Intelligence & AI Specialist - HQA (Local)

Successfully design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise Business Intelligence and AI solutions that improve data accessibility, reporting, analytics, and decision-making across UNRWA. Deliver high-quality data warehouse models, ETL/ELT solutions, Power BI dashboards, AI-enabled analytics, and technical documentation while ensuring data quality, adherence to enterprise architecture standards, and knowledge transfer to relevant technical teams.

The Consultant will be responsible for providing senior technical expertise in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Artificial Intelligence solutions. The Consultant will work closely with the Enterprise Architecture & Business Intelligence (EBI) team to deliver enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities. Specific outputs/tasks include, but are not limited to: • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical BI and AI solutions. • Design and develop dimensional data warehouse models and analytical/semantic models. • Design and develop OLAP cubes and support database objects. • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT processes and data integration solutions. • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, KPI scorecards, and AI-powered dashboards. • Support implementation and adoption of Microsoft Copilot and other AI capabilities within BI solutions. • Ensure data quality, consistency, completeness, and accuracy through profiling, validation, cleansing, and monitoring activities. • Provide technical advice and recommendations related to BI, Power BI, analytics, AI, and data architecture. • Coordinate with the Enterprise Architecture & Business Intelligence team on technical design, architecture, deployment, and production support. • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to BI developers and relevant technical staff. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, specifications, operational procedures, and user manuals. • Perform other related duties as required.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or another related discipline. Minimum seven (6) years of relevant professional experience. Nature of required experience: Professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Software Development, or related fields, including experience with Power BI, SQL Server, ETL/ELT development, dimensional modelling, AI-powered analytics, and Microsoft BI technologies. • Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI. • Extensive experience with SQL Server, SQL development, and database scripting. • Strong experience in Data Warehouse design and dimensional modelling. • Strong experience in ETL/ELT development and data integration. • Strong experience writing DAX and SQL. • Experience with Microsoft SSIS and SSAS. • Experience implementing AI-powered analytics, Microsoft Copilot, or Generative AI solutions. • Experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions. • Experience preparing technical documentation. • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric is desirable

English and Arabic are the working languages of UNRWA. For this assignment, fluency in both Arabic and English are required.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The consultancy is based in UNRWA HQA Amman with possibility for remote consultancy in the fields of UNRWA operations. • The consultancy is for local candidates. • The selected candidate will receive a monthly remuneration that is amounting to JOD 1,190.44 or equivalent in USD for every fully completed month. • The duration of the Contract is for 12 months, and the possibility of extension is subject to the availability of funds and continuing need and satisfactory performance. • As part of Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID)and digital workspace the role works under the overall supervision of the head, Digital Impact Strategy and Data Officer and in coordination with EBI team.
