Organizational Context and Scope

Under the  direct supervision of the Senior National MEAL Officer (Head of MEAL Unit), the Senior Information Management Associate assists in the production and dissemination of information working closely with the relevant teams within IOM Turkiye Ankara office and Gaziantep sub-office and collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure the availability and accuracy of migration-related data. The position aims to strengthen the country mission's data management systems and facilitate data collection, analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will operationalize data standards developed at the central level in field operations, compiles data and analyses information from all populations of concern.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1.    Assist and operationalize country-specific common data standards and promote them internally and (or) with partners, including IOM data standards and the IASC Common Operational Datasets.
2.    Support the planning, coordination, supervision and implementation of information management activities in relation to IOM Türkiye portfolio in Ankara and Gaziantep including cross border operations in line with the expectations of mission’s requirements for IM.  Coordinate and monitor the work of IM focals across programmes in close coordination with programme managers.
3.    Compile and aggregrate information elements required to produce standardized information products and implement data/information collection plans for baseline and context-specific data.  
4.    Collect, collate and process information and perform data quality and consistency control. Provide periodic inputs into Country Office’s internal and external reporting mechanisms (e.g. annual Institutional Questionnaire/IQBIS reporting, 4W tracker, UNCT reports etc.).
5.    Work closely with field teams to facilitate data collection processes, providing assistance in data collection tool design/management (e.g. Kobo, MS Forms etc.) and guidance on data capture and entry procedures.
6.    Conduct data analysis and generate periodic reports on migration trends, patterns, and challenges for internal and external dissemination. Produce summary statistics.
7.    Assist in training of staff involved in information management activities, including data collection and data entry teams.
8.    Support and leverage geographic data for map production and use in geographic information systems (GIS).
9.    Undertake fact check review and validation of different program’s products such as reports, fact sheets and guidelines, provide a feedback to relevant units accordingly.
10.    Respond timely to ad hoc requests for information, statistics, and reports from other IOM Units.
11.    Participate in IM Working Groups and Clusters as appropriate at the office level.
12.    Use  power business intelligence and other data visualization software to support programme production of Flash Updates, bi-weekly and quarterly reports as needed, and to create interactive dashboards for beneficiary statistics, mission strategy performance monitoring, and respective survey measurements.
13.    Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATION

•    Undergraduate university degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Demography, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or 
•     School diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
•    At least four years of proven experience managing and utilizing business intelligence (BI) software. 
•    At least four years of proven experience using information management related computer programs and databases (e.g. Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Python and other enterprise database system) 
•    At least two years of demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate teams remotely and to prepare clear and concise reports, and assessment tools 
•    At least two years of experience in information management in the areas of emergency response and migration; 
•    At least two years of previous experience working with an International Organization or UN agencies; 
•    At least three years of proven experience in Türkiye or comparable contexts in the Region.
SKILLS
•    Familiarity with data mining techniques and the ability to interpret and manipulate large-scale migration datasets effectively.
•    Capability to develop protocols for data collection, validation, and verification to maintain data accuracy and consistency. 
•    Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create compelling visual representations of migration data for diverse stakeholders.

REQUIRED
