Department Context
ITS Operations and Country Engagement Department (ITSOE) delivers innovative products and services to frontline staff working on over 6,000 projects throughout every Region and Global Practice. Our teams support and enable Bank priorities, boost operations efficiency and effectiveness, and facilitate Operational knowledge discovery. Our delivery model leverages global expertise, design and architecture, leading technology, and robust processes to deliver business solutions that ensure value for money.
Unit Context
The ITS Country Engagement unit (ITSCE) delivers digital support for global and country-specific products, supports systems aligned with the new Country Engagement model, and provides geospatial solutions to improve spatial visibility and impact tracking. It also drives the delivery of AI-powered business solutions to support business priorities and accelerate data-driven decision-making across the institution. The unit’s geospatial portfolio supports operational teams in applying location-based insights, mapping, imagery, and related digital tools to strengthen project design, implementation, monitoring, and communication.
The Regional Engagement Analyst serves as a focal point for the ITSCE Solutions. The incumbent supports stakeholder engagement, solution awareness, and adoption across both portfolios, helping country teams, regional teams, and Global Practices identify opportunities where technology, geospatial capabilities, and advisory services can address operational challenges and support development outcomes.
Working closely with management, product owners, geospatial specialists, architects, and advisory teams, the coordinator will facilitate engagement, connect stakeholders with relevant expertise and solutions, and help make the ITSCE geospatial portfolio visible, accessible, and relevant across regional, country, and local engagements. The role does not require technical implementation of geospatial solutions but does require sufficient familiarity with available products and geospatial concepts to identify use cases, communicate value propositions, and support adoption.
Specific Responsibilities
Regional Operations Studio
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Regional Operations Studio and act as an ambassador for ITSOE products, advisory services, and innovation initiatives.

• Coordinate Studio activities, ensuring country teams are welcomed, oriented, and connected to appropriate ITSOE products, advisory services, and subject matter experts.

• Facilitate workshops, demonstrations, co-design sessions, and engagement activities involving country teams, OPCS, and ITSOE specialists.

• Capture and qualify operational needs, technology challenges, and business opportunities and connect stakeholders to the appropriate product, service, or advisory pathway.

• Lead outreach, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities to expand awareness, participation, and adoption of the Regional Operations Studio.

• Build and maintain relationships with country teams, Regional teams, Global Practices, OPCS, and other stakeholders to strengthen regional engagement and utilization of ITSOE services.

• Monitor engagement outcomes and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve the Studio experience and operational impact.

Geospatial Solutions Engagement and Adoption

• Act as a regional engagement and promotion focal point for the ITSCE Geospatial Solutions portfolio, working closely with product owners and geospatial specialists to identify and advance opportunities with country teams, Regional teams, and Global Practices.

• Promote awareness and adoption of geospatial products, services, and advisory capabilities through demonstrations, clinics, roadshows, and targeted outreach activities.

• Maintain working knowledge of the ITSCE geospatial portfolio, including project geo-tagging, mapping solutions, imagery-enabled applications, and digital twin use cases, and communicate their operational value in accessible language.

• Identify operational challenges that may benefit from geospatial approaches and connect stakeholders with the appropriate product owners, advisors, and technical specialists.

• Support the development of presentations, communication materials, demonstrations, and map-based narratives that showcase how geospatial insights can strengthen project design, implementation, monitoring, and decision-making.

Selection Criteria

• Master's degree with 5 years of experience or a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technology and geospatial concepts into practical operational value propositions and support adoption of products, services, and advisory offerings.

• Strong understanding of how technology, AI, data, and geospatial solutions can support operational teams and improve business outcomes. The role is not a deep technical-specialist position but requires sufficient technology awareness to understand stakeholder needs, discuss solution options credibly, identify opportunities, and connect teams with appropriate products and specialists.

• Basic familiarity with geospatial technologies and concepts, including maps, location-based data, geospatial analysis, and the operational application of spatial information.

• Familiarity with digital twins and their potential role in planning, infrastructure management, urban development, asset management, project monitoring, and operational decision-making is highly desirable.

• Strong storytelling, presentation, and visual communication skills, including the ability to use maps, dashboards, and visual materials to communicate insights and support engagement activities.

• Familiarity with satellite imagery, remote sensing, drone imagery, or imagery-enabled operational workflows would be an advantage.

• Strong coordination, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements, stakeholder relationships, and follow-up activities.

• Practical, curious, proactive, and client-focused, with the ability to identify opportunities, increase awareness, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.

• Familiarity with WBG operational workflows, including country engagement, mission support, project preparation, supervision, procurement, and portfolio management, is highly desirable.

• Experience organizing or supporting outreach activities, roadshows, clinics, demonstrations, workshops, conferences, communities of practice, or similar engagement initiatives is highly desirable.

• Experience within the World Bank Group, multilateral development banks, international development organizations, or similarly complex global institutions would be an advantage.

• Proficiency in English.
