Our Organization:

Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) provides a Joint headquarters to plan, prepare and conduct operations to support NATO’s core tasks, at the Joint Operational level, as directed by Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). The Management Directorate (MGT) directs the HQ staffing, workflow and protocol activities, internal security, identifies innovation, efficiency & transformational measures to organisational and procedural issues being responsible for internal control and business continuity, ensures information management and data protection and provides essential support services and facilities management. The Base Support Group (BSG) is accountable for the execution of the Host Nation (HN) Support Agreement (HNSA), Garrison Support Agreement (GSA) and HN Liaison in line with Base Support Concept. The Base Support Management Branch (BSM) provides internal base management and administrative services for HQ personnel and supported elements. The Transportation Section (TP) is responsible for the provision of road transportation services for personnel travelling on official duty utilising either a NATO common funded vehicle or other commercially sourced service. Additional responsibilities include planning and arranging Very Very Important Persons (VVIP) and conference transportation. TP also maintains all operational transhipment/warehouse and service transport assets. Incumbent is responsible for performing driving duties and roadworthiness inspections in compliance with host nation regulations.

The duties of Driver (Assistant Fleet Manager and Vehicle Inspector) are to:

ØPerform driving duties as required.

ØEnsure that all vehicles in the JFC HQ Brunssum fleet comply with host nation regulations regarding road safety requirements and that all vehicles and equipment are roadworthy.

ØExecute the registration and de-registration of all JFC HQ vehicles.

ØCoordinate with vehicle dispatch in the planning of JFC Vehicles servicing planning.

ØPrepare necessary vehicle documentation for upload into FINS.

ØLiaise with ACO MTM for advice on equipment matters.

ØResponsible for raising damage reports and Calculating Repair Expenditure Limits as and when required.

ØResponsible for timely renewal of required certification for all vehicles and is involved with the planning of the inspection program.

ØLiaise with Local contractors for the service and repair of vehicles.

ØEnsure that the information on out-contracted tasks is put into NAFS.

ØCheck all vehicle fire extinguishers and other onboard equipment for serviceability.

Required qualifications are:

üMinimum 2 years professional experience in managing and maintaining a small / medium vehicle fleet as a fleet manager / deputy fleet manager.

üProfessional experience maintaining a fleet management database system to ensure accountability (status) of vehicles.

üValid driver’s license categories, B, BE, C, CE, D1, D, DE.

üKnowledge of mechanical principles, use of diagnostic equipment.

üKnowledge of environmental legislation within the motor industry.

üKnowledge of Health and Safety legislation within the motor industry.

üProficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Tool suite and collaborative IT software.

üGood English language skills, both oral and written.

Desirable qualifications are:

üExperience working within a military or multinational environment.

üDangerous Goods (DG) license (ADR) or DG awareness training.

üExperience in carrying out safety and technical inspections on road vehicles.

üForklift license.

üGood Dutch language skills, both oral and written.

üBasic German language skills, both oral and written.

The successful candidate possesses following competencies:

üGood communication skills both oral and written;

üGood level of interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy;

üGood organizational and planning skills;

üAdaptable, flexible – may be required to work outside normal duty hours;

üAble to work under pressure.

Please note that this is a full-time Local Wage Rate (LWR) position, 38 working hours per week. This position follows the terms and conditions of the employment contract regulations for Local Staff employed at the Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters Brunssum in accordance with the LWR Regulations.

The gross monthly starting salary is EUR 3.736,01; maximum gross monthly salary in this grade is EUR 5.015,23. Salary is subject to taxes.

In addition to the salary there is monthly accrual of Holiday Allowance (8% of the monthly gross salary) to be paid in May, a monthly accrual of Year End Payment (8.33 % of monthly gross salary), to be paid in November, and participation in a pension plan (currently ABP).

An employee appointed for 38 working hours per week will be entitled to 184 hours holiday per calendar year. This entitlement will be increased based on the age of the employee.

The selected candidates will be offered a 2-year definite duration contract including a 2-months probationary period. This contract may be followed by a contract of indefinite duration. The successfully selected candidate requires a NATO security clearance before an employment offer is released.
