About Endless Access
Our vision is simple: the whole world, empowered.
Endless Access works to close the global digital divide by putting digital tools and skills in the hands of underserved communities, so that young people everywhere can become not just consumers of technology but creators. A central part of that work is a low-cost laptop running a free, offline-capable operating system full of educational games, learning resources, and everyday family apps. In a market where most children in emerging economies have no computer at all, that model is what turns "out of reach" into "within reach."
About the Role
Endless Access is seeking a sales-focused Partner Sales Director to lead our Device Access presence in Kenya. This is a sales leadership role, not a general management role. Working through partners rather than a direct sales force, you will own the end-to-end customer journey and build the selling capability that makes the partnership succeed. We treat our partners as alliances we deploy alongside, not channels we manage. You will enable their teams in selling our products with excellence, making sure every customer obtains the right device and the confidence to use it.
We have a committed partner ready to sell and in need of strong enablement, so the early focus is on proving and systematizing what great looks like rather than building a market from nothing. You will define that standard, prove it in the field, and install it as we prepare the Kenya arm of Device Access to scale. You will also lead and set the playbook for a small in-country team, starting with one experienced team member who is already engaged with partners on coordination and field execution.
Constant, dedicated field presence is the default mode of this role. The only way to know whether a sales initiative is working is to see it firsthand, so we need someone who spends real time in the market alongside the in-country team and stays healthily skeptical of the dashboards: the numbers tell you something happened, but only time in the field tells you why, and whether it will hold at scale. You will work with a high degree of autonomy and are trusted to act with integrity, setting your own priorities and cadence in the market.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy
-
Build and continuously refine a country-level sales playbook for the Kenyan market, covering go-to-market, prospecting, needs discovery, demonstration, objection handling, and closing for a low-cost, pay-as-you-go family device.
-
Translate product, pricing, and marketing inputs into practical, field-ready selling guidance and the tools that support it.
-
Pilot new approaches in controlled settings, measure rigorously, and iterate before scaling.
Partner Enablement and Sales Force Excellence
-
Own the outcome of sales-force training end to end. You need not be the trainer of record, but you are accountable for whether training changes behavior and results in the field.
-
Set a clear, measurable bar for what "trained and selling well" looks like, onboard new partner teams to it, and measure training effectiveness continuously at the level of the individual agent and the area or regional manager with defined paths for retraining or escalation.
-
Run training as an ongoing cycle rather than a one-time event: test, observe in the field, find what is not landing, refine, and redeploy on a fast, repeatable rhythm.
Partner Alliance Management
-
Serve as the senior relationship owner and ultimate point of accountability for our partners in Kenya, setting the terms of engagement and expectations.
-
Align partner incentives, motivations, and selling behavior with our goals through trust, credibility, and influence rather than direct authority.
-
Spot capability gaps in partner teams and co-design solutions (training, incentives, or tools) with HQ support.
Customer Journey Ownership
-
Own the end-customer experience from first touch through purchase, making sure every interaction with partner salespeople and our customer service reflects our brand promise and values.
-
Install quality checkpoints at key moments (individual, group, and institutional sales, demo quality, the buying experience, and post-sale follow-up) and hold partners to them.
-
Gather structured customer feedback from the field and feed insights back to HQ on product, pricing, and messaging. Champion the customer and the mission, especially family buyers and first-time technology users, and ensure we do right by them in every commercial decision.
Performance Management and Reporting
-
Own the performance dashboard and define what it measures, drawing on HQ support and field reporting to give real-time visibility into sales activity and outcomes at the level of the individual agent and area or regional manager, not only aggregate views.
-
Use that granularity to tell whether training and messaging are truly working, rather than trusting partner-level averages that can look healthy while masking weak spots underneath.
-
Set, track, and report on partner KPIs (input metrics, conversion, customer satisfaction), catch underperformance early, diagnose the cause, and put collaborative recovery plans in place.
Skills and Experience
Essential
-
A track record of building sales capability in partner or indirect sales teams: designing and running training and, above all, owning whether it changes behavior and results in the field, not just delivering it.
-
Significant sales experience, typically eight or more years, including time selling through partners or indirect teams, ideally in consumer electronics, technology, or a related category.
-
Skilled at influencing without authority, aligning people who do not report to you toward shared goals.
-
Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building, ready to shape the role as it takes form and drive outcomes with a lean team.
-
High personal integrity, trusted to do right by customers and partners without close oversight.
-
Proven use of structured consultative sales methods (for example, DQ or SPIN).
-
Excellent communicator in English and Swahili, equally credible with field teams and senior leadership, and comfortable operating both onsite and within a distributed, multinational team across time zones.
Desirable
-
Established knowledge of, and relationships in, the Kenyan or broader East African market.
-
Comfortable in technical product conversations: can engage credibly with HQ engineering and product on how the device and operating system work, and translate that into plain language for agents and first-time users.
-
Familiarity with consumer technology products, especially devices aimed at education or family use.
-
Exposure to new or disruptive operating systems or platforms, and the ability to turn technical novelty into simple customer value.
-
An understanding of last-mile field merchandising in Kenyan consumer markets.
-
Experience building and leading a team, valuable as the program scales.
What We Offer
-
The chance to build something that matters: a partner-powered distribution engine that widens access to technology and opportunity across Kenya.
-
Real ownership and direct access to HQ leadership, with genuine influence over how we go to market.
Our Working Style
Endless Access is a fully distributed, global nonprofit; most of the team works remotely and asynchronously across many countries. This role is the exception: onsite and field-based by design, while also connecting daily with HQ and colleagues across time zones, much of it in writing and over video. We are looking for someone equally at home coaching in person in Nairobi and working as part of a virtual, cross-cultural team: clear in writing and able to stay close to a head office they will rarely see in person.
Not Sure You Meet 100% of the Requirements?
Studies show that women and people from underrepresented backgrounds often hesitate to apply unless they meet every listed qualification. Building a truly inclusive digital future means bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, so if you are excited about this role and our mission to expand access to technology, we strongly encourage you to apply even if you do not check every box. Your perspective could be exactly what we need.
Endless is an Equal Opportunity Employer
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds who share our passion for games, education, and creating opportunities for underserved learners.
