Project Assistant
The project aims to strengthen environmental sustainability and water security in the Lower Mekong Basin through improved governance and sustainable utilization of the shared transboundary aquifer system.
Reporting to the CMDA Chief Technical Advisor (CTA), the incumbent will provide financial and administrative support to the project implementation, ensuring compliance with IUCN’s administrative policies, procedures, and relevant donor requirements.
The Project Assistant (PA) will provide administrative and logistical support to the implementation of the Cambodia – Mekong Delta Aquifer (CMDA) Project, a bilateral GEF International Waters (IW) initiative between Cambodia and Viet Nam focused on strengthening the transboundary management and sustainable utilization of the shared Cambodia–Mekong Delta Aquifer (CMDA).
SPECIFIC DUTIES
The duties of the Project Assistant will include, but are not limited to:
• Support CMDA staff travel arrangements, including flight bookings, cash advances, local transportation arrangements, and hotel reservations, as well as the reconciliation and reimbursement of travel advances.
• Support the Finance and Administrative Associate in providing administrative and logistical support for meetings, workshops, and project events, including venue arrangements, liaison with service providers, coordination of participants’ travel and accommodation, preparation of participant materials, calculation and provision of DSAs, organisation of field visits, preparation of event expenditure documentation, and follow-up on logistical arrangements as required.
• Support procurement processes for supplies, equipment, and other project-related items in accordance with IUCN procurement procedures.
• Support administrative and logistical arrangements for CMDA workshops, forums, meetings, and other project activities.
• Support the maintenance of financial and administrative records, including filing vouchers, invoices, receipts, and other supporting documents.
• Support the Finance and Administrative Associate in reviewing payment requests and preparing complete payment documentation for CMDA project activities.
Other duties
• Carry out any other relevant tasks as required by, and mutually agreed with, the line manager(s).
