Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

  • Support people-centred assessments by integrating protection, gender, disability inclusion, conflict sensitivity and accountability considerations to promote safe and dignified assistance delivery.
  • Organize and facilitate community consultations, focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs) and other engagement activities to inform programme planning and operational decision-making.
  • Collect, compile, verify and maintain assessment, monitoring and feedback data, records and supporting documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Document and analyze information on protection risks, gender dynamics, disability inclusion concerns, community priorities, operational risks, challenges and emerging issues to feed into operational decision making.
  • Support implementation of monitoring, community engagement and accountability activities in line with approved plans and field office priorities.
  • Support community sensitization and awareness-raising activities to ensure affected populations understand assistance processes, entitlements, feedback channels and complaint mechanisms.
  • Promote safe, equitable and accessible access to assistance, information and feedback mechanisms for women, men, girls, boys, older persons and persons with disabilities.
  • Support partner and staff capacity strengthening and compliance with WFP's people-centred standards.
  • Liaise with cooperating partners, area/field office and country office teams to support PCPQ implementation, partner engagement processes, data collection, quality assurance, identification of good practices and adaptation of interventions based on community insights.
  • Provide technical support for reporting, knowledge management and lessons learned, including guidance to enumerators/facilitators and partner staff on data collection and reporting requirements, and contribute to regular reports to the Country Office and corporate reporting.
  • Actively engage in learning opportunities.
  • Other assigned duties as reasonably required.

Deliverables at the End of the Contract

•  Support provided to assessment, monitoring and community engagement activities.

•  Information and data collected, organized and shared to support programme implementation.

•  Community feedback, concerns and priorities documented and communicated to relevant teams.

•  Programme activities supported in line with organizational requirements and procedures.

•  Reports, updates and relevant documentation prepared and maintained as required.

•  Coordination and information sharing supported with field teams, partners and communities.

•  Contributions made to programme quality, accountability and continuous improvement efforts, including through trainings and mentorship prgorammes for partner and WFP staff

Education:

A bachelor's degree or certified diploma in communications, social science, international development, law, international studies, human rights, political science, public administration, or a related field is required.

Experience :

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in humanitarian and development work at the field level is essential.

Experience supporting assessments, community consultations, monitoring activities and data collection.

Experience working with communities, partners and field teams.

Experience preparing reports and maintaining programme records is desirable.

The candidate should possess an understanding of and strong background in protection, including gender, accountability to affected people (AAP), inclusion,  in humanitarian action, with demonstrated skills in advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal relations, and networking.

Prior experience in facilitating training and workshops is advantageous.

Language: fluent in both English and Arabic

Kowledge and skills

Understanding of protection, including AAP, gender, inclusion, conflict sensitivity and social safeguarding.

Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collect, organize and analyze information from different sources.

Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively with communities, partners and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Good written and spoken English and Arabic.

Ability to work independently, manage priorities and maintain confidentiality.
