Organisational Context and Organisation Chart

This role will be part of a dynamic and growing team that is redeveloping new internal and external systems to drive genuine understanding of SPC work, processes and change management. This role has growth opportunities and will be part of the new development of the organisation requiring both creative and technical approaches to support internal, online and face to face engagement across the organisation and with key partners.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Reporting to the Deputy Director (Internal Communications) with Matrix reporting to Operations & Integration and Women in Leadership/flagship teams), the Outreach and Engagement Advisor is responsible for development and implementation of effective engagement and outreach approaches on internal and change management work across OneSPC initiatives with a dedicated focus on gender equality, mainstreaming whilst leading the internal partnership development and translation of policy to action in best-practice strategic communications tools and content.

This role leads and coordinates the implementation of both internal and external translation internal systems and processes and supports mainstreaming of people-centred development including gender equality action and engagement to advise and assist SPC teams and other stakeholders where needed.

This role will directly support the broader OneSPC Transformation Team and alongside operations and integration teams including Human Resources, internal gender flagship teams, SPC staff and external partners in these critical areas of work.

This Engagement and Outreach role will lead the development, testing and implementation of the outreach and engagement strategy that will guide how we embed effective strategic communications practices within the organisation specific to holistic OneSPC approaches and support access to policy in action using best practice tools.

This role will be responsible, for development of a targeted and well-planned engagement and outreach strategy for SPC staff, SLT, key partners, stakeholders and Members including support where needed to the SPC regional offices in Federated States of Micronesia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tonga. This will include the development of a co-designed strategy for the first 12-months across the organisation priority needs aligned to the change process agreed to and working closely across operations, integration, gender equality and integrated based work areas internally.

Most Challenging Duties Typically Undertaken (Complexity):

  • Lead and coordinate the review internally whilst building significant trust with teams that have not have internal communications support in the past.
  • Develop and engage to co-lead on ideas and content to bring change with the process across diverse teams in SPC and external.
  • Embed gender equality and people-centred development into the work as a priority and mainstreamed across all change work led by this role.
  • Review existing channels of dissemination and work with Knowledge Management advisor on best practice ways to drive shifts towards better compliance and engagement.
  • Coordinate effective and socially inclusive systems.
