The African Union Development Agency invites applicants who are citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Assistant, African Health Security Manufacturing Initiative.
Under the supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, the Project Assistant provides administrative, coordination, and operational support to the successful planning, implementation, and monitoring of the African Health Security Manufacturing Initiative (AHSMI), a strategic partnership between AUDA-NEPAD and Unitaid aimed at strengthening Africa's pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in administrative tasks, managing correspondence, data management, and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective written and verbal exchanges, and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Member States, Regional Economic Communities, AU Institutions, and development concepts.
- Proficient organisational and administrative skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, and to adapt to fast paste work environment.
- Proactive in taking initiative to support project activities and handling unforeseen challenges.
- Effective time management skills to meet tight deadlines and manage a variety of project demands.
- Skilled in providing comprehensive administrative support, including organising meetings, coordinating logistics, and managing documentation
Education and Experience:
A Minimum of a High School Certificate and a College Diploma in General Administration, Developmental Studies, Office Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Minimum five (5) years of progressive administrative or project support experience, including at least two (2) years in a similar role in national, regional, international, or multinational organisations.

Remuneration:
Indicative basic salary of US$19,701.71 per annum plus other entitlements e.g., Post Adjustment (46% of basic salary), Housing allowance ($16,813.44 per annum), gratuity (15% of gross salary) in conformity with the rules and procedures applicable to internationally recruited staff of the African Union.
