Overview of position

1. Background

Our client requires an experienced Executive Driver (Security Support) to provide safe, reliable and security-conscious transportation services in support of senior management operations in a complex operating environment.

The role is established to support implementation of enhanced movement security risk mitigation measures identified through the UN Security Management System (UNSMS) security risk management process.

The position is not a Close Protection function and does not replace UNDSS or security personnel. Its purpose is to reduce movement-related risk through professional driving, advance planning, situational awareness, movement confidentiality, defensive driving and effective coordination.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

To provide secure executive transportation while supporting movement security planning and implementation, thereby enabling the safe conduct of official duties in accordance with Our client policies and UNSMS guidance.

Key competencies

Executive Transportation

  • Provide safe, reliable and discreet transportation for official movements.

  • Plan routes considering traffic, security and operational factors.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding travel plans, destinations, residences and official meetings.

  • Ensure the principal is not unnecessarily exposed while waiting in unsecured public locations.

  • Coordinate arrivals and departures to minimize unnecessary exposure.

Movement Security Support

  • Maintain continuous situational awareness before and during official movements.

  • Conduct a vehicle and route readiness assessment before each movement.

  • Monitor local security conditions and identify changes that may affect movement safety.

  • Report suspicious activity, hostile surveillance indicators or route hazards immediately.

  • Recommend route, timing or movement adjustments where safety concerns arise.

  • Support implementation of movement security measures agreed with our client and UNDSS.

  • Maintain communication with designated focal points during movements when required.

Operational Coordination

  • Coordinate movement schedules while preserving operational confidentiality.

  • Support implementation of approved movement plans and contingency arrangements.

  • Maintain movement logs and assist with security-related administrative records where required.

Emergency Response

  • Respond appropriately to accidents, civil unrest, demonstrations, roadblocks, vehicle breakdowns or other emergencies.

  • Safely withdraw from unsafe areas where conditions warrant.

  • Immediately notify designated officials of incidents.

  • Provide first aid within the limits of training until further assistance arrives.

Vehicle Management

  • Ensure the assigned vehicle remains roadworthy, serviced and properly equipped.

  • Maintain emergency equipment, communications equipment, first aid kit, spare tyre and recovery equipment.

  • Maintain fuel levels above the agreed operational minimum.

Administrative Support

  • Support logistical arrangements for official missions.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle records, fuel logs and maintenance documentation.

Education, Experience and Training

Education

  • Secondary education with a valid national driving licence.

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible executive driving experience.

Team management
  • This role does not have Team Management requirement.
