n Venezuela, MI supports earthquake response and early-recovery activities through local implementing partners. The position is imbedded into the Emergency & Quality (E&Q) Team, which provides technical and operational support, and contributes to resource mobilisation and the transition from emergency response to recovery. At the same time, the team maintains readiness to support further emergencies and global response activities.
For its relief work in Venezuela, Malteser International is looking for a motivated Emergency Program Compliance Manager.
As the Emergency Program and Compliance Manager – Venezuela, you will be part of Malteser International’s E&Q Team and play a central role in supporting the earthquake response and early recovery in Venezuela. You will work closely with local partners, strengthening their capacities and helping ensure effective, high-quality and accountable programme delivery. At the same time, you will contribute to MI’s wider emergency preparedness and response work in a dynamic, international environment.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage, coordinate and monitor MI’s earthquake response and early-recovery activities in Venezuela.
- Develop and maintain implementation plans, activity trackers, monitoring tools, reporting systems and project documentation.
- Coordinate cooperation with local implementing partners and strengthen their capacities in project management, compliance, reporting and quality assurance.
- Ensure effective coordination and information flow between local partners, MI, Order of Malta entities, donors and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support emergency assessments and monitoring missions in line with SPHERE and Core Humanitarian Standard requirements.
- Contribute to resource mobilisation, donor communication, proposal development and the identification of funding opportunities.
- Support MI’s wider emergency preparedness and response work.
Your profile:
- University degree in international studies, humanitarian assistance or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant professional experience, working in international projects.
- Experience in managing emergency relief operations and donor-funded projects.
- Sound knowledge of institutional donor requirements and international humanitarian standards.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish; German is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, multitasking and prioritisation skills, with a solution-oriented approach in stressful situations.
- Willingness and ability to undertake prolonged duty trips to Venezuela, also to remote or insecure areas
