Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office in Guyana, and the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the Senior Information Management Associate will lead, coordinate and supervise information management activities for the Guyana Country Office, including selected database activities and related data collection, analysis, reporting and dissemination processes.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to ensure timely, coherent and high-quality information management outputs, including the organization of team workflows, guidance to field teams and enumerators, coordination with relevant units and partners, and quality assurance of datasets and information products. The role will support evidence-based decision-making by IOM, national authorities, United Nations agencies, humanitarian partners and other stakeholders, ensuring that IM outputs are accurate, operationally relevant and aligned with IOM standards.

Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate information management activities for the Guyana, including rapid assessments, mobility tracking, registration support, needs assessments and other related data collection exercises.
- Plan, organize and supervise the development and implementation of data collection tools, reporting templates, databases, standard operating procedures and information management workflows, ensuring consistency with IOM and requirements.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to field teams, enumerators and colleagues involved in data collection, data management, analysis, visualization and reporting, including through briefings, trainings and regular follow-up.
- Coordinate the work of IM and ICT team members and ensure timely task allocation, follow-up, consolidation of inputs and delivery of agreed outputs, escalating operational or technical issues as needed.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that data, tables, charts, maps, dashboards and written products are accurate, consistent, methodologically sound and ready for internal or external use.
- Compile and analyse information on affected populations, displacement, mobility, return intentions, temporary shelters, priority needs, available services and response gaps.
- Prepare and review information products such as dashboards, maps, factsheets, situation updates, briefing notes, presentations and other materials for internal and external use.
- Coordinate information flows and technical inputs among field teams, programme units, IM colleagues, communications teams, regional and global technical teams, authorities and humanitarian partners to ensure timely validation and dissemination of information products.
- Represent or support the representation of the IM function in coordination meetings, donor updates, government briefings and inter-agency processes by preparing inputs, presenting key findings and following up on agreed actions.
- Keep datasets, tools, reports and final products organized and secure, in line with IOM standards on data protection and confidentiality.
- Help identify information gaps and suggest follow-up assessments or additional analysis based on response needs.
- Perform such other relevant duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Languages
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
DESIRABLE
Working knowledge of Spanish, French or another UN official language is an advantage.
