The Supporter Engagement section brings together all aspects of Supporter Engagement: from digital marketing; eCommerce; donor acquisition and development; management of global platforms and shared technical infrastructure, business intelligence in marketing data and fundraising insights; capacity building and innovations, data protection and working on integrated supporter engagement projects. The section works closely with stakeholders across PSP, country offices, regions and other stakeholders within the Division of External Relations (DER). The section’s mandate is to lead on raising Individual Giving income to the organization. Achieving sustainable income growth in Individual Giving is important beyond the sheer value of the donations received, above and beyond all other income streams Individual Giving provides: High quality, highly flexible, highest proportion of unearmarked and resilient multi-year income.
This role is part of the PMO and Administration Team positioned within SES and provides services in the areas of Project Management and Administration to the section and wider PSP. The team’s PMO mandate ensures efficient collaboration within cross functional teams, visibility of the section across stakeholders, and monitors progress and coordination of SES wide activities to make sure that the section provides maximized value to HQ, regions, and national PSP offices. In addition, the team is rolling out a project management framework across PSP to enhance collaboration, increase efficiency, and ensure effectiveness of the delivery of projects and activities.
The administration mandate of the team ensures that the section has a robust management practice through oversight and operational support to deliver the section’s mandate. This includes optimal use of the section’s resources, oversight of budget to ensure maximization value of investment, development of efficient processes, ensure compliance with organizational policies, and propose creative operational solutions to make sure that the section is adaptive to change, and expectation of the stakeholders are fulfilled. In combination of these two perspectives, the team ensures that the section is proactive in mitigating risks and adaptive to changing environment.
The position
The PMO and Admin team is seeking a dynamic, skilled, and proactive intern who will support projects and administrative processes.
This internship is a unique opportunity to gain experience within project management, resource management, reporting, procurement, data gathering and practical aspects of administrative processes within the UN system. The intern will have opportunities for learning and expanding knowledge and experience within the areas of project management, finance, procurement, and operations as well as process improvements and system developments.
The Project Support Intern (Data Analysis) will be working under the supervision of PSP Operations Officer and in close cooperation with the rest of the team.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be a strong communicator with fluency in English (advanced writing and editing skills);
• Demonstrate ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff;
• Have excellent organizational and planning skills with proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task;
• Demonstrate ability to quickly shift from one task to another to meet multiple support needs;
• Demonstrate curiosity in digital innovation, with a proactive approach to exploring new tools and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Ability to review data, identify and adjust discrepancies; and
• Demonstrate ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
Duties and responsibilities
• Analyse data and create dashboards in Business Intelligence Software (e.g. PowerBI) to support reporting, monitoring and evidence-based decision-making;
• Support system development and process improvement initiatives;
• Provide project management support and innovative solutions to project activities;
• Assist in coordinating the formulation of strategies and programmes;
• Assist in coordinating and supporting the section’s presence on internal digital platforms such as SharePoint;
• Support the onboarding and separation of colleagues joining and leaving the section;
• Assisting in identifying and managing the necessary resources to implement projects activities;
• Organizing regular team meetings and ad hoc meetings and events (Book room, coordinate agenda, send invitation, take notes);
• Create and edit presentation, reports and other documents in visually pleasing, clear and presentable formats;
• Provide day-to-day support to the operational work of the Section; and
• Perform any other necessary duties.
Minimum qualifications required
In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO1; and
• Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR2.
• not have exhausted the maximum cumulative internship period with UNHCR, including any prior internships (8 months for full-time and 12 months for part-time)
NOTE: An individual who bears the relationship of parent, child or sibling or step-parent, stepchild
or step-sibling to a current UNHCR staff member or affiliate is not eligible for an internship.

Desirable qualifications and skills
• Knowledge of a second UN language (Arabic/Chinese/French/Russian/Spanish);
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of financial, administrative, secretarial best practices and procedures.
• Experience with project management tools.
Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 08:30 am to 05:00 pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in Copenhagen.
Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
Travel: Unless provided or paid by external sponsoring entities, UNHCR reimburses interns engaged from a location outside of the country of the duty station for the ticket costs of their outward and return travel to/from the duty station by the most economical route available on economy class, irrespective of the duration of the journey. Reimbursement shall be limited to the authorized outward and return travel between the intern’s country of residence and the intern’s duty station, or actual route of travel, whichever is lower.
Before travel is undertaken, the selected intern must obtain authorization in writing from the hiring office. Such authorization must include the approved cost of the ticket.
Internships normally last two to six months with the possibility of extension up to eight months for full-time internships and twelve months for part-time internships.
