Job Description

The Molecular Breeding Scientist will contribute to the development of novel genetic transformation systems for vegetatively propagated crops, primarily potato and sweetpotato, and to obtaining foreign-DNA-free gene-edited materials of these crops.

Requirements

  • International background: Be a national of a country participating in the Belt and Road Initiative or another developing country.

  • Professional experience: Have formal employment experience in the above-mentioned countries and be engaged in scientific research.

The candidate should hold a doctoral degree or have more than 5 years of scientific research work experience.

  • The candidate should demonstrate a relatively high scientific research level or potential.

The candidate should be younger than 45 years old, calculated as of the date of applying for the job position, and be in good health.

  • Good English or excellent Chinese language communication skills.

Able to work full-time in China.

  • Able to comply with Chinese laws, regulations and other relevant rules.

  • Experience in foreign-DNA-free gene editing and in creating foreign-DNA-free genetic materials.
