About the job

The MEAL Assistant – Data Collection will assist in the effective implementation of monitoring, exercises through data collection, cleaning and reporting. They will support the compilation of surveys and tools to monitor achievement of indicators, ensuring consistency, accuracy and quality of data collected. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
 

  • Data collection
    • Support the MEAL team in data collection: conduct data collection via phone call and upload data onto relevant information management platforms.
    • Data review and uploads: update relevant tools and trackers for data collection and upload data onto data collection platforms.
    • Modify and edit any inaccuracies in data collection.
  • Data Analysis
    • Assist with initial data analysis, identifying project results, impact, success factors, and gaps related to youth employability and startup performance.
    • Support the preparation of summaries and visualisations (charts/tables) for internal reports and presentations.
  • Accountability
    • Ensure beneficiaries are treated with respect, confidentiality, and informed consent during all interviews.
    • Handle all data and information as strictly confidential and the property of the project; do not share with third parties without prior written approval.
  • Learning
    • Continuously engage in learning and feedback loops with the project team to improve data reliability and analytical skills.
    • Contribute to organizational learning by supporting project learning events.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have experience in working with Non-Governmental Organizations.

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required

  • Familiarity with digital data collection methodologies and platforms (KoboToolbox).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated and organized with a demonstrated capacity to manage time and personal work plans.
  • Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
  • Undergraduate degree in development studies, international relations, economics or other social sciences, or related field.
  • Fluency in written and spoken French and Arabic
  • Bachelor degree/ in social sciences, humanities, quantitative/qualitative research methods, public health, any other related field
