EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) TO SERVE AS A TRUSTEE OBSERVER ON THE AATF BOARD OF TRUSTEES
AATF invites Expressions of Interest (EoI) from suitable candidates from the following regions: Southern Africa, Western Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Asia, or the Middle East to serve as trustee observers on the AATF Board of Trustees.
Interested candidates must have experience and expertise in at least two (2) of the following thematic areas:
a) Resource mobilization and partnerships;
b) Business strategy, innovation, and design thinking;
c) Biotechnology and biosafety regulatory affairs;
d) Digital agriculture & emerging technologies;
e) Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI);
f) Public policy, trade, regulatory affairs; and
g) Inclusivity, gender, and youth in agriculture.
Additionally, they must demonstrate:
a) Integrity and ethical leadership;
b) Strategic and analytical thinking;
c) Strong communication and consensus-building skills;
d) Appreciation for cultural diversity and multi-country contexts;
e) Passion for agricultural development and African-led innovation; and
f) The ability to navigate complex governance and development ecosystems.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEE OBSERVERS
Potential candidates shall be expected to attend one in-person and one virtual board meeting to perform tasks and support strategic engagements as needed. Additionally, they shall participate in at least one meeting of any of the following committees:
a) Programme Development and Commercialization;
b) Nominating and Governance;
c) Audit and Risk;
d) Resource Mobilization and Sustainability; and
e) Ad hoc Task Forces

The Nominating and Governance Committee of the Board of Trustees shall review the applications and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for their approval.
