The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) is hiring a Senior Product Manager within the Banking Technology unit.

This role is based in Basel, Switzerland; however, thanks to our status as an international organization, we can hire globally and welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and located anywhere in the world. Purpose of the job:
Lead and manage the lifecycle of the complex Trading venues and Market data products. This involves managing the full lifecycle of the Trading venues from identifying market opportunities, business need, defining Trading venue and Market data products, and creating roadmaps for the delivery and growth, including budgeting and financial viability. Lead and manage the Trading venues and Market data product strategy in close partnership with business stakeholders and Banking Technology management. Lead and work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
The role shall ensure that Trading venues and venue integration is reliable, resilient, and future-ready, while maintaining alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives and Banking department technology standards.

Drive the strategic vision and lifecycle management of Trading Venues and Market Data products, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s goals and industry standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, enhance product performance, and support business-critical trading applications across global regions.
Lead initiatives to optimize market data cost efficiency while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and resilience.
Principal Accountabilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of Trading Venues and Market Data products, including strategy, roadmaps, financials, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement.
Identify business needs through data-driven analysis and deliver aligned product enhancements while mitigating risks and ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
Oversee end-to-end delivery of product features, balancing technical and functional priorities, and ensuring adherence to governance standards.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, providing guidance, training, and mentoring to build team capabilities and achieve objectives.
Manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement aligned with organizational goals.
Champion change management for product rollouts, ensuring user adoption through effective training, documentation, and communication.
Optimize market data cost efficiency and lead cost-reduction initiatives across business units.
Provide 24x5 production support for trading applications, ensuring high service levels and readiness for on-call support during off-hours.
Act as the first line of defense for technology-related controls, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
University degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
5–10 years of experience supporting Trading Venues in a banking or financial services environment.
Proven track record in managing and delivering business-critical Trading Venue and Market Data initiatives with measurable results.
Strong leadership, people management, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
Experience in complex contract negotiation and vendor management.
Expertise in product lifecycle management, from ideation to retirement, ensuring alignment with market needs and organizational goals.
Strong analytical skills to assess business needs, identify gaps, and recommend strategic solutions.
Effective communication and influencing skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in managing resources, budgets, and cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes efficiently.
Knowledge of market conditions, regulations, and industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
