NATO Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum is hiring a Building Area Warden in the Infrastructure Management Section of the Base Support Group. This Section is responsible for the overall direction, management, engineering and maintenance functions. Our Organization:
Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) provides a Joint headquarters to plan, prepare and conduct operations to support NATO’s core tasks, at the Joint Operational level, as directed by SACEUR. The Management Directorate (MGT) directs the HQ staffing, workflow and protocol activities, internal security, identifies innovation, efficiency & transformational measures to organisational and procedural issues being responsible for internal control and business continuity, ensures information management and data protection and provides essential support services and facilities management. The Base Support Group (BSG) is accountable for the execution of the Host Nation (HN) Support Agreement (HNSA), Garrison Support Agreement (GSA) and HN Liaison in line with Base Support Concept. The Facilities Management Branch (FMB) directs, manages and coordinates engineering and maintenance functions, including health and safety. The Branch is tasked to administer Castlegate bunker in dormant mode on behalf of SHAPE and assists in case of activation through SHAPE BC-Plan. The Infrastructure Management Section (IM) is responsible for the overall direction, management, engineering and maintenance functions to include engineering support, facility management, as well as civil works and utilities procurement for HQ JFCBS and supported elements in accordance with the relevant Host Nation Support (HNS) agreement. Incumbent is responsible for the program of planned preventative maintenance and inspection for IMS on JFCBS, particularly for the support of all buildings on Hendrik Camp and for the maintenance, manipulation, and installation of locks and safes throughout JFCBS.
The duties of a Building Area Warden are to:
ØCarry out the tasks assigned by the Team Leader Facilities.
ØCarry out inspection work to include planned preventative maintenance, quality control of external contractors and support works by HN Support for all buildings on Hendrik Camp.
ØSupport the Building Monitor System (BMS) Operator to optimize the climate control systems and electrical installations for maximum efficiency and user comfort.
ØAct as the point of contact to the relevant building users regarding building maintenance work orders and functions as the Building Warden.
ØProvide building specific information for design and repair teams for Infrastructure Management Section (IMS) and Host Nation Support.
ØCarry out basic refurbishment work such as hanging pictures, whiteboards, etc.
ØInstall, replace and maintain locks for security requirements base wide in all buildings. This includes cutting keys to replace those that are damaged or lost.
ØProvide support/assist with the change of safe/lock combinations upon customer requests base wide in all buildings
ØEnsure the Health and Safety (HES) protocols are complied with to ensure safe working of the Facility Team, contractors and building users.
Required qualifications are:
üSecondary education and completed vocational training in related field/discipline.
üGood English language skills, both oral and written.
üGood Dutch language skills, both oral and written.
üMinimum 3 years’ professional experience in Facilities Maintenance including experience using a work order system.
üExperience controlling building heating and electrical systems.
üAbility to work at heights.
üKnowledge of environmental legislation.
üKnowledge of Health & Safety regulations and instructions.
üValid driver’s license for vehicle class B.
Desirable qualifications are:
üKnowledge of structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
üExperience working in a military or international organization.

Please note that this is a full-time Local Wage Rate (LWR) position, 38 working hours per week. This position follows the terms and conditions of the employment contract regulations for Local Staff employed at the Allied Joint Force Command Headquarters Brunssum in accordance with the LWR Regulations.
The gross monthly starting salary is EUR 3.169,99; maximum gross monthly salary in this grade is EUR 3.996,83. Salary is subject to taxes.
In addition to the salary there is a monthly accrual of Holiday Allowance (8% of the monthly gross salary) to be paid in May, a monthly accrual of Year End Payment (8.33 % of monthly gross salary) to be paid in November, and participation in a pension plan (currently ABP).
An employee appointed for 38 working hours per week will be entitled to 184 hours holiday per calendar year. This entitlement will be increased based on the age of the employee.

The selected candidates will be offered a 2-year definite duration contract including a 2-months probationary period. This contract may be followed by a contract of indefinite duration. The successfully selected candidate requires a NATO security clearance before an employment offer is released.
