Job Overview/Summary:

The International Rescue Committee is initiating a short-term nutrition focused project funded by UNICEF. The initial duration of the project is 4 months with possible further extension. The project will contribute to improving the nutrition service delivery and outreach in seven districts of Punjab province.

The MIS Officer will be responsible for day-to-day management of program information for the nutrition project, including receiving data in soft form from Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) and outreach teams and entering it into the given data management system i.e. CommCare or an Excel based system. The role will support data analysis, development of Program Indicator Dashboard (PID), and coordination with field teams to ensure accurate and timely data flow. The MIS Officer will report to the Program Coordinator in Multan, with a technical reporting line to the MIS Manager in Islamabad.

Major Responsibilities:

Data Management

·       Receive data in soft form from OTP and outreach teams on a regular basis.

·       Upload/populate received data into the given MIS/data management system accurately and on time.

·       Ensure regular flow of data from the field to the system, checking for completeness before entry.

·       Maintain organized records of data files received from field teams.

Data Analysis and Reporting

·       Provide analyzed data relevant to program decision making to the Program Coordinator and technical team.

·       Develop and update analysis dashboards and infographics against project indicators.

·       Inform the Program Coordinator and MIS Manager about data trends, gaps, or areas needing improvement.

·       Support planning and implementation teams with data driven information, trends, and projections.

System and Process Support

·       Support development and maintenance of data entry forms and system structure as guided by the MIS Manager.

·       Recommend process improvements for more efficient and accurate data flow from field to system including orientation to the team.

·       Report any technical issues with the system to the MIS Manager in Islamabad for resolution.

Coordination

·       Coordinate with OTP and outreach teams to ensure data is shared in required format and on schedule.

·       Keep close coordination with the Program Coordinator in Multan on day-to-day data and reporting needs.

·       Maintain technical coordination with the MIS Manager in Islamabad on system related matters and reporting standards.

·       Provide support to program and MEAL teams on data related queries as needed.

Other

·       Always maintain confidentiality and proper handling of beneficiary data.

·       Carry out other relevant tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator or MIS Manager.

 

Key Working Relationships:  Position Reports to Program Coordinator at Multan and closely coordinates with the MEAL team and OTP and Outreach teams. The position technically seeks support from the MIS and MEAL leadership at country office.   

 

Job Requirements:

a)      Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Any certification or diploma in MIS will be valued.

b)      Work Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years work experience with an INGO or in offices.  At least 2 years of experience in data management, data entry, or database related work, preferably in the NGO sector. Good knowledge of data collection tools such as KOBO and visualization tools such as Power BI preferred.

  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
  • Good computer skills, including MIS layouts, data entry, spreadsheets, and database systems.
  • Ability to manage large volumes of data accurately with limited supervision.
  • Good understanding of basic data analysis and ability to identify data trends or issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work with field teams and program/technical management.
  • Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising data quality.
