Overview of position

Under the overall guidance of the Head of Project Development and Support Unit (PDSU) and the direct supervision of the Programme Support and Public Information Officer, the incumbent will support Client Libya’s public information, communications, multimedia production and visibility activities, with a particular focus on the eastern and southern regions of Libya.

Role objectives
  1. Collect interviews, testimonies to draft human-interest stories in written and multimedia formats, with the aim of producing at least one story per quarter.
  1. Conduct regular field visits across eastern and southern Libya to document Client operations and activities through photographs, video footage, beneficiary stories, interviews and programme information for use across Client Libya’s publications and communication channels.
  1. Regularly capture, edit and produce high-quality photographs and video content showcasing Client activities, programmes and results for dissemination.
  1. Produce at least one video story per month highlighting Client activities, programme results or donor-supported interventions, including content developed in line with specific project and donor communication requirements.
  1. Support the development of multimedia content for Client Libya’s social media platforms, website, publications, reports, newsletters, presentations and other communication products, ensuring accuracy, consistency and adherence to Client branding and communications standards.
  1. Monitor relevant media and social media channels to identify coverage, public sentiment, misinformation, misreporting and emerging issues related to Client, migration and the Mission’s areas of work; promptly flag issues of concern to the Public Information team and support appropriate follow-up.
  1. Contribute to the maintainance and regular update of the PI library repository of high-quality photographs, video footage, interviews and other multimedia assets from Client Libya’s field operations, ensuring that current content is readily available for communication, reporting and donor visibility needs.
  1. Ensure that photographs, videos, stories and other communication materials appropriately reflect gender considerations, diversity, dignity and protection principles, in line with Client's communications standards and ethical storytelling practices.
  1. Support the delivery of practical communications and multimedia training for Client field staff in the eastern and southern regions, including on photography and basic videography, interviewing and story collection.
  1. Work closely with programme and operational colleagues to identify and cover important events and UN Days such as field missions, high level visits and distributions, through appropriate audio-visual content.
  1. Design and produce visibility and communication materials, including donor visibility products, information sheets, factsheets, reports, banners, roll-ups, presentations and other communication materials, in accordance with Client and donor branding requirements.
  1. Support the planning and implementation of communications and visibility activities for Client programmes and projects, ensuring timely production and dissemination of relevant materials.
  1. Liaise with Resource Management Unit colleagues to support the timely procurement, maintenance and replenishment of Client and donor visibility materials and supplies, including branded vests, banners, roll-ups, information materials and other visibility items, and monitor stock levels to ensure adequate availability for field activities and events.
  1. Provide routine administrative and logistical support to the Public Information team.
  1. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
