CURRENT OPPORTUNITY
GGGI is implementing the Climate Finance Initiative for Resilience and a Sustainable Transition (Climate FIRST) Project in Papua New Guinea, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). As part of its program delivery, GGGI is increasingly leveraging digital systems and technology-enabled solutions to strengthen project implementation, information management, monitoring and reporting, knowledge management, and stakeholder engagement across its portfolio of activities.
To support these efforts, GGGI is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Digital Systems Project Support Intern to provide support across digital systems and information management initiatives within the PNG Program. The internship will primarily support the implementation of the Nationwide SME Database being developed in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation (SMEC), while also providing opportunities to contribute to other digital platforms, dashboards, information management systems, and technology-enabled solutions developed under the Climate FIRST Project and other PNG Program initiatives.
Working under the guidance of the designated supervisor, the Intern will assist with digital systems support, project documentation, information management, data organization, testing support, knowledge management, digital research, and related project support activities. The internship provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical development setting while gaining hands-on experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within an international development organization.
The assignment will include the followings but not limited to:
- Assist in supporting the implementation of digital systems and technology-enabled solutions across the PNG Program.
- Support the Climate FIRST Project Team in coordinating activities related to digital systems and information management initiatives with consultants, service providers, and project partners.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining project documentation, implementation trackers, issue logs, meeting records, and other project information.
- Support the review and organization of technical documents, system deliverables, and project outputs submitted by consultants and service providers.
- Assist in organizing, maintaining, and updating digital records, datasets, and information repositories.
- Support system testing activities and document observations, issues, and user feedback for review by the project team and technical service providers.
- Assist in preparing user guides, presentations, reports, and other project and knowledge management materials.
- Conduct desk research on digital technologies, information management practices, and digital solutions relevant to GGGI's programme and project activities.
- Participate in project meetings and assist in documenting key discussions, action points, and follow-up activities.
- Undertake other related assignments and provide general support to digital systems and project implementation activities as requested by the supervisor.
