WOAH has 250 staff members, two-thirds of whom are based at headquarters.The Office of the Director of Cabinet supports the Director General in the implementation of WOAH’s strategic priorities and coordinates key cross-cutting initiatives such as institutional advocacy, strategic planning, and governance.To support these functions, WOAH is offering a 6-month internship to a Master’s student with a strong interest in international affairs, public policy, and global health. The selected intern will assist the office of the Director of Cabinet, under the supervision of the Advocacy officer, in a variety of strategic and operational tasks and gain valuable experience at the intersection of animal health diplomacy, advocacy, and multilateral engagement.
Job Description
Positioning and reportingThe Intern will work under the authoritie of the Director of Cabinet and the direct supervision of the Advocacy Officer.
Job purposeThe internship aims to:  – Offer the intern exposure to the functioning of an international organisation working on global health and policy and multilateral decision-making processes.  – Assist in the preparation of speeches, briefings, advocacy notes, and presentations.  – Contribute to the implementation and coordination of WOAH’s advocacy and visibility efforts.  – Contribute to the preparation of international meetings, events and institutional engagement.
Missions and activitiesStrategic Support and advocacy– Assist in preparing briefings, talking points, and background notes for meetings of the Director General or senior leadership.  – Contribute to drafting speeches, PowerPoint presentations, external messages and concept notes, letters. – Support preparation of international events and institutional meetings, or specific advocacy initiatives.  Internal Coordination and Administrative Support– Help prepare and follow up on key meetings (COMEX, Council, Strategic Committees).  – Support cross-departmental coordination on initiatives led by the Office of the DG and the cabinet. – Take notes, prepare summaries or internal briefings as needed.  – Provide support to the Director of Cabinet on institutional matters when needed.   Research and Analysis– Conduct background research on emerging policy issues (One Health, global health governance, climate, etc.).  – Contribute to the preparation of knowledge products or policy papers.
Requirements
Qualifications and ExperienceRequired Qualifications– Enrolled in a Master’s programme (Master 1 or 2 level) in international relations, public policy, global health, communication, political science, or a related field.    Required SkillsTechnical Skills– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).  – Ability to analyze complex information and synthesize clearly.    Interpersonal Skills– Strong sense of discretion and professionalism.  – Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment.  – Prior knowledge of global governance, One Health, or international organisations is a plus.

Working conditionsFull-time position based at WOAH Headquarters in Paris.   Salary: 715euros/ month Duration: Six (6) months Start date: Quarter 3-4 2026 Location: WOAH Headquarters, 12 rue de Prony 75017 Paris, France   The intern must provide proof of university enrollment and health insurance coverage.The internship agreement must be tripartite between the intern, WOAH, and the academic institution.
