Duties and Responsibilities

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, whose mandate includes assisting developing and transition economies to take advantage of expanding trade opportunities in an increasingly complex global environment. ITC supports export impact for good, promoting sustainable and inclusive development goals through trade, targeting SMEs, Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) and Policy Makers. The Institutions and Ecosystems Section (I&E) is in the Division of Enterprise Competitiveness and Institutions (DECI) of the International Trade Centre (ITC) and is responsible for managing ITC’s headquarters-based trade related technical assistance programmes for building the institutional capacity of Business Support Organizations (BSOs) to produce, deliver and market export & investment development and promotion services. More information here: https://www.intracen.org/business-support-organizations We are also on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/itc-trade-support Duties and responsibilities The intern will report directly to the Senior Officer, Organizations and Ecosystems Development, under the overall supervision of the Chief, Institutions and Ecosystems Section. He/she will carry out the following duties, as required: Communication • Assist in the implementation of the Digital Communications strategy of I&E Section • Plan weekly posts with the team, create posts and schedule their release as per plan through the Trade Support LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/itc-trade-support • Provide support in the management of the www.ITCBenchmarking.org platform Project Management • Execute autonomously project related activities, in particular related to capacity building of entrepreneurship support organizations (ESOs) such as incubators and accelerators • Provide support and assistance in the preparation of project related documentation and in project implementation with the support of AI tools authorized by ITC • Plan and document activities on the team’s Asana.com account Research • Contribute to the development of BSO assessment reports and other write-ups • Undertake desk research and BSO surveys as per requirements • Prepare briefing materials on trade & investment promotion good practices (Word, Powerpoint) ITC champions workforce diversity, inclusion, gender equality and gender parity and considers all qualified persons - of all genders - equally, including those with disabilities, without discrimination or prejudice of any kind.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants to the programme shall, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in a or b above) and, if selected, shall commence the internship within one year of graduation. Relevant field of studies e.g. business studies, international trade, development. Skills • Computer literate, particularly with relation to Microsoft Office and social media. • Good communication and analytical skills and the capacity to present findings clearly in writing and orally. • Knowledge of Business and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations and their ecosystems. • Knowledge of Digital Transformation and AI tools.

Languages

• Fluent in English • Working knowledge of French, a distinct plus.
