Overview of positionEstablished in 1951, Client is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non- governmental partners. Client is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Role objectives1.Support liaison and coordination with embassies and consular authorities to facilitate the verification of migrants’ nationality and the issuance of travel documents for voluntary return cases.
2.Assist in organizing and coordinating consular missions, interviews, and verification sessions between migrants and relevant embassies, including scheduling, documentation, and logistical arrangements.
3.Maintain accurate records and case documentation related to travel document requests, nationality verification processes, and embassy communications in accordance with IOM data protection standards.
4.Provide administrative and operational support to the Consular Support team, including drafting correspondence, preparing briefing materials, and supporting the follow-up with embassies on pending cases.
5.Coordinate with Protection, Case Management, and Return teams to support the identification, referral, and follow-up of migrants requiring consular assistance throughout the documentation process.
6.Track and monitor travel document requests and embassy communications, maintaining updated lists of submitted cases, issued documents, and pending caseloads.
7.Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and coordination activities with embassies and relevant stakeholders, including preparation of meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
8.Maintain filing, storage, and management of sensitive documentation, including passports, expired travel documents, and embassy correspondence, in line with established procedures.
9.Assist in compiling data and preparing routine internal reports, updates, and briefing notes related to consular support activities, travel document issuance, and coordination efforts.
10.Support biannual embassy assessments by identifying logistical and administrative needs and facilitating consular processes.
11.Follow established safety and security protocols during field deployments and report any incidents or concerns to the designated focal points.
12.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Professional experience in the field of Protection and assistance to vulnerable populations.
