About the RoleThe Head, Private Sector Partnerships and Innovation (PSI), leads efforts to mobilise private sector resources and engage multinational companies and innovators in support of Gavi’s mission. The role is responsible for developing and implementing private sector partnerships and innovation initiatives, brokering collaborations with stakeholders that can contribute to Gavi’s strategic objectives, and leveraging private sector expertise to address challenges across the immunisation landscape.A key focus of the role is accelerating access to innovation in Gavi-supported countries through private sector mechanisms such as INFUSE and the Scale Up Facility. The Head ensures these innovative solutions and partnerships are effectively leveraged to support organisational priorities, including health security, resilient health systems, pandemic preparedness, climate resilience, and broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while strengthening Gavi’s position as a trusted partner for the private sector.2. Key Responsibilities- Lead the Private Sector Partnerships and Innovation team and grow Gavi’s portfolio of corporate, philanthropic, investor and innovation partnerships.- Develop and implement strategies that generate private sector financing, expertise, technology and assets in support of Gavi priorities.- Build and manage senior stakeholder relationships across target industries, foundations, investors, AI companies and global corporations.- Secure and steward multi-year funding partnerships through effective engagement, negotiation and transparent reporting.- Represent Gavi at high-level external forums and strengthen Gavi’s value proposition with private sector audiences.- Lead innovation platforms, including INFUSE and innovation scale-up initiatives, to identify and scale impactful solutions.- Develop partnerships with AI and technology organisations to support improved immunisation and health outcomes.- Create ecosystems of investors, accelerators, donors and innovators that advance Gavi’s innovation agenda.- Ensure strong cross-secretariat collaboration and alignment on private sector engagement opportunities.- Drive private sector participation in key events including WEF, UNGA, Skoll, SOCAP, replenishment and other strategic forums.3. Your Experience and SkillsProfessional Experience- Typically 10 -15 years or more of experience in private sector fundraising and partnerships building.- Demonstrated experience securing major funding commitments and developing partnerships across public and private sector organisations. - Experience engaging and influencing senior executives across multinational companies, foundations, investors, and other external partner organisations. - Experience leading teams and delivering partnership or innovation initiatives that contribute to organisational priorities. - Experience operating within complex, multi-stakeholder environments and building collaborations across sectors.Education and Qualifications:- Essential: University degree in public affairs, global health, business administration, social entrepreneurship, international development or a related field- Good to have: Master's degree or equivalent.Technical & Functional Skills:Must-have- Strategic partnership development, advanced functional capability: Developing and expanding partnerships with companies, foundations, investors, and innovation organisations.- Resource mobilisation and fundraising, advanced technical and functional capability: Structuring, securing, and stewarding major and multi-year funding commitments.- Senior stakeholder engagement and negotiation, advanced functional capability: Building trusted executive-level relationships, negotiating commitments, and aligning diverse stakeholder interests.- Innovation platform and portfolio leadership, advanced functional capability: Leading mechanisms that identify, assess, and scale solutions addressing immunisation and health challenges.- Innovation ecosystem development, advanced functional capability: Connecting investors, accelerators, donors, technology organisations, and innovators around shared objectives.- External representation and strategic communication, advanced functional capability: Presenting Gavi’s value proposition and partnership opportunities to senior private sector audiences and at high-level forums.- Cross-functional partnership coordination, advanced functional capability: Aligning internal stakeholders around private sector engagement opportunities and organisational priorities.
