KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Safe and efficient transportation of IRC personnel and materials.

·       Safe and responsible operation of standard and armored IRC vehicles in accordance with their technical specifications and established procedures.

·       Maintenance and servicing of IRC vehicles and their accessories.

·       Professional representation of IRC.

·       Conducting daily checks and inspections of the vehicle before each trip, taking into account its specific technical and operational characteristics.

·       Meticulous maintenance of the vehicle logbook, route logs, and other documents required by IRC.

·       Adherence to IRC-established safety procedures, routes, traffic rules, and communication requirements while working in areas with elevated security risks.

·       Application of defensive driving principles, taking into account road, weather, and security conditions.

·       Performing other job-related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

·       A valid Class B and C driver’s license.

·       Practical experience driving vehicles in the relevant weight class.

·       Practical experience driving armored vehicles is a plus.

·       Experience working as a driver for humanitarian organizations, international nongovernmental organizations, or in high-security-risk environments is a plus.

·       Possession of a certificate or completion of specialized training in driving armored vehicles (Armored Vehicle Training) is a plus.

·       Knowledge of the principles of safe and defensive driving (Defensive Driving).

·       Ability to safely operate a vehicle, taking into account its increased weight, dimensions, and braking distance.

·       Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to independently identify obvious technical malfunctions.

·       Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

·       Willingness to work and travel in areas with elevated security risks in accordance with IRC procedures.

Education: A high school diploma; vocational (technical) education. A valid driver’s license for categories B and C.

Experience: at least three years of experience as a professional driver; strong practical skills in driving vehicles with a manual transmission.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

·       Basic English skills (A2–B1) are preferred; fluency in Ukrainian/Russian is required.

·       Basic computer skills.

·       Ability to work in a team, discipline and reliability, polite communication, and friendliness.

·       Ability to follow established procedures under stress and during periods of high workload.

·       Ability to respond quickly to changes in traffic, weather, and safety conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION

·       This position is full-time and based in the office following the completion of the probationary period.

·       Business travel may account for up to 30% of your time

·       The position involves travel to areas with elevated security risks, including frontline territories

·       No overtime required

·       Occasional weekend work may be required

·       Work under a matrix structure

·       Fast-paced work, multitasking, and psychological pressure

·       The organization cares for its staff and offers a flexible work schedule (start early—finish early,

·       start late—finish late)

·       Employees may be assigned to drive Category C armored vehicles after completing the appropriate in-house or certified training

·       Compliance with all IRC safety requirements and procedures is mandatory during business travel
