What we are looking for

NRC is looking for an experienced leader to join the organisation and the NRC Senior Management Group (SMG) as our new NORCAP Director. The role holder will lead the NORCAP department and be responsible for NORCAP’s pool of experts, projects, partnerships, and the NORCAP brand.

The NORCAP Director ensures strategic direction, as well as programme and policy development within the department. He/she is accountable for achieving NORCAP’s strategic objectives, the implementation of programmes, and NORCAP’s results. As part of NRC’s Senior Management Group, the Director is accountable for the development and execution of NRC’s Global Strategy together with other SMG colleagues

What you will do

  • Strategy and plan of action development.
  • Performance management and line management of staff.
  • Accountability of results according to strategies, budgets, and plans.
  • Policies, guidelines, and regulations for compliance accountability.
  • Budget responsibility and allocation of administration budgets. 
  • NORCAP representation in NRC’s partnerships.
  • Global crisis management response leadership in critical incidents concerning NORCAP personnel.
  • Fostering a collaborative culture and coordination structures, to prevent silo-thinking, enhance learning, and promote best practice to achieve common goals.
  • Endorsing and promoting a unified organisational culture through leading by example and encouraging open discussions and feedback.
  • Operational and institutional partnership relations maintenance, compliance, and development.

What you will bring

  • Senior management / leadership level experience, within the within the humanitarian, development, and/or peacebuilding field, or other complex organisations, with international exposure.
  • Project and programme management, and business development proven track record.
  • Fundraising and donor relations demonstrated success.
  • Strategy development and implementation expertise.
  • Professional credibility to be able to represent NRC and NORCAP within partner agencies and external stakeholders.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer
