The Scope
We are looking for an engaged Policy Manager, Technology Solutions who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.
The Policy Manager, Technology Solutions is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and managing digital solutions that enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and effectiveness of Country Requirements processes. The role serves as a bridge between policy and technical teams, leading digital transformation initiatives, managing technology projects, and ensuring that digital tools and systems support the development and maintenance of FSC Risk Assessments, Forest Stewardship Standards, and related normative frameworks.
The position requires strong project leadership, business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and technology management skills to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the Country Requirements function.

Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the identification, development, procurement, and implementation of digital tools and technology solutions that support Country Requirements processes.
- Serve as project lead for the development and enhancement of Country Requirements databases and related information management systems.
- Act as Product Owner for the FSC Risk Hub, driving platform improvements, user experience enhancements, and publication of Risk Assessments.
- Manage external consultants, vendors, and technical partners involved in digital tool development and digitalization projects.
- Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of digital tools, databases, and reporting systems.
- Support the drafting, review, maintenance, and digitalization of normative documents, guidance materials, and standard operating procedures (SoPs).
- Facilitate collaboration between policy experts, standards specialists, software developers, and IT teams to translate business needs into effective digital solutions.
- Support procurement processes, project budgets, funding streams, and operational planning related to Risk Assessments and Forest Stewardship Standards.
- Plan, facilitate, and report on meetings, webinars, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Drive innovation within the Policy Solutions team by identifying opportunities for automation, data management, reporting, and process optimization.
Your profile
- University degree in Public Administration, Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Forest Management, Forest Policy, Environmental Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in certification systems, quality management, forestry, natural resource management, public administration, non-profit management, or a related area.
- Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives, technology projects, or business process improvement activities.
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into digital solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, Microsoft 365, databases, dashboards, and enterprise digital tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining alignment with cross-functional teams and leadership.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting procedures, reports, guidance documents, and other formal documentation.
- Experience with digitalization of standards, policy frameworks, or normative documents is highly desirable; GIS experience is an advantage.
- Fluent in English; French is considered an asset.

The Fine Print
- Location: Bonn, Germany.
- Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
- Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
