The post holder will undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work within the safeguarding policies of the organisation. Place of work: Diakonia Sri Lanka Country Office, Colombo, Sri Lanka

Reporting to: Country Director, Diakonia Sri Lanka

Key areas of responsibility

· Support monthly bookkeeping and with the preparation monthly financial reports for the Country Office.

· Prepare and maintain relevant supporting documents related to finance and administration with systematic filing for follow-ups and audits.

· Assist in the preparation of financial updates and reports for submission to back-donors.

· Support budget analysis and the preparation of financial projections.

· Support the procurement processes: negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and quality deliverables, participate in the analysis of offers.

· Inventory and fixed asset management.

· Facilitate the smooth operation of the office and support all administrative functions in collaboration with the Grant and Compliance Advisor.

· Support the management of human resources administration.

· Documentation, filing, and archiving of HR, administrative, and finance-related documents.

· Arrange staff travel for official trips and events.

· Organise, coordinate, and provide support for Diakonia-led activities.

· Provide administrative and logistical support to capacity-building activities related to finance, administration, and human resources.

· Participate in field and monitoring visits, as required.

· Support and engage in evaluations and audits.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications and requirements

· A university degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

· At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the development sector/grant management.

· Experience working with accounting or financial management software.

· Good computer literacy.

· Good command of English and working knowledge of Sinhalese and Tamil.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· A team player and facilitate teamwork.

· Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality and commitment to ethical standards, feminist principles and Diakonia’s values.

· Experience in human resources, procurement, and logistics would be an added advantage.

· Based in Sri Lanka.
