Unit Context:

The Digital Solutions team delivers modern productivity, collaboration, and endpoint solutions to over 30,000 users. We support Microsoft 365, WebEx, Power Platform, and AI tools like Copilot, Google Gemini, and Grammarly, while engineering, deploying, and supporting Windows Endpoints. We are a collaborative, customer-focused team committed to solving problems with reliable, impactful technology.

Duties and accountabilities:

Over the past several years, as the Bank transitioned from legacy, multi‑component search pipelines toward a streamlined, cloud‑based architecture built on Databricks, Azure Search, and modern ingestion frameworks, the responsibilities naturally shifted. The emphasis moved from deep hands‑on legacy support to lighter sustaining activities, validation, and advisory input as the platform became more stable, simpler, and less operationally intensive.

Responsibilities and skills include, but are not limited to:

• Provide frontline support for on‑prem search indices, addressing issues with indexing failures, latency, data freshness, metadata ingestion, or API responsiveness.

• Troubleshoot data ingestion problems within legacy pipelines and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve workflow breaks, mapping errors, or inconsistent search results.

• Support the migration of ingestion pipelines from legacy ETL systems to Databricks‑based pipelines and Azure Search indexing, validating outputs, and ensuring continuity in search relevance and metadata quality.

• Assist downstream application teams using legacy search APIs by diagnosing performance issues, mismatches in query results, or schema discrepancies.

• Guide users and product teams through changes in search behavior as the architecture was simplified, helping them understand differences between legacy index behavior and modern cloud‑based search patterns.

• Participate in content validation, smoke testing, and quality assurance cycles during phased decommissioning of on‑prem components.

• Summarize recurring search and ingestion issues, identify root patterns, and communicate actionable recommendations to engineering teams and modernization programs.

• Provide support for user outreach, Q&A sessions, and transition communications related to search platform upgrades, index consolidations, or pipeline sunsetting activities.

• Contribute advisory insights to ongoing simplification efforts by representing user impacts, highlighting operational inefficiencies in legacy components, and validating the functional readiness of cloud replacements.
