About this position

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven General Operations Consultant. As a General Operations Consultant, you will support the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and closure of IDB-financed operations, track project activities, maintain accurate operational records, and coordinate with Government counterparts to ensure the effective, timely, and compliant delivery of the Country Office's operational portfolio.

You will work in the Operations Unit, part of the CCD Department (Country Department Caribbean). This team is responsible for the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and closure of IDB-financed operations, as well as tracking project activities, maintaining accurate operational records, and coordinating with Government counterparts.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor assigned operations, including key milestones, deliverables, disbursements, procurement activities, and implementation progress and flag delays or issues requiring attention
  • Maintain accurate operational records, trackers, databases, and dashboards to support portfolio monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate with government counterparts, executing agencies, consultants, and internal Bank teams to facilitate timely implementation of operational activities
  • Support the organization and coordination of missions, meetings, workshop, training activities and other operational events
  • Provide support for procurement and contract administration activities, including tracking processes, deliverables, payments, extensions, and contract deadlines
  • Prepare and contribute to reports, presentations, briefing notes, correspondence and other material required to support the Chief of Operations
  • Support knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, good practices, operational information, and maintaining relevant repositories and resources
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and efficiency, proactively follow up on outstanding actions, and undertake other related duties as assigned by the Chief of Operations.

What you'll need

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Public Administration, Finance, International Development, Procurement / Supply Chain Management or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.  

Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in a similiar capacity. 

Languages: Proficiency in English.
   

Requirements

Citizenship:You are a citizen of one of our .  Must be eligible to work in Jamaica  without the need for sponsorship.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

National Consultant Full-Time, 12 months  (up to 48 months subject to eligibility).
