Job Overview/Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Communications Intern to support the development and implementation of communication strategies that highlight program impact and strengthen stakeholder engagement. The intern will assist with donor visibility, reporting, content development, and documentation while gaining hands-on experience in strategic communications within the humanitarian and development sector. This six-month internship offers valuable exposure to communication planning, storytelling, and program coordination processes

Major responsibilities include:

·         Assisting in the development and implementation of communication strategies that showcase the impact of programs on a scale.

·         Supporting donor visibility and reporting, including attending key program meetings such as Program Opening Meetings (POM), Program Implementation Meetings (PIM), and Project Cycle Meetings (PCM) and documenting communication and visibility elements.

·         Assisting in tracking communication and visibility budgets to ensure alignment with donor requirements and program plans.

Safeguarding Responsibilities: -

·         Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion and cohesion in IRC [team/office]

·         Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies

·         2025/26 First Degree Graduate in communication and other related fields

Preferred Experience and Skills:

·         Zero years of experience

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Commitment to learning and applying humanitarian principles and inclusion.

·         Willingness and commitment to learn Microsoft Office applications with minimal support

·         Excellent written and verbal communication in English, Amharic, and ability to speak local language is advantageous.
