Since 2017, IRC has supported Rohingya Refugees and Bangladeshi nationalities communities in Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong with integrated services. The organization also addresses climate change impacts by building resilience and promoting economic recovery, education, and protection.
Purpose of the Role
The Assistant - People & Culture will provide effective administrative and coordination support to the People & Culture function, with a primary focus on talent acquisition, training coordination, meetings, and employee engagement activities. The role will support the timely and effective delivery of P&C processes in accordance with IRC policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards.
The position will report to the Deputy Director – People & Culture and will work closely with the P&C team and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of People & Culture activities.
Highlights of Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Selection
- Assist with recruitment processes, including receiving RRFs, updating recruitment trackers, and maintaining recruitment files.
- Support vacancy announcements, CV screening, written tests, interviews, and candidate communication.
- Coordinate interview logistics and support interview panels with required documents and guidance.
- Escalate any recruitment-related compliance concerns to the Senior Manager - People & Culture.
Training & Meeting Support
- Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and other learning activities, including scheduling, invitations, materials, and logistics.
- Maintain training records and support the collection of participant feedback.
- Assist in arranging People & Culture meetings, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, and following up on action points.
Employee Engagement & People Operations
- Support initiatives that promote staff engagement, inclusion, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture.
- Promote awareness of safeguarding, IRC values, and People & Culture policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper handling of employee and recruitment information.
- Support staff and supervisors with leave-related queries and documentation
- Assist in drafting and circulating People & Culture-related circulars, memos, letters, notices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Prior exposure to working with displaced populations or marginalized communities is highly valued.
- Work experience in an English-speaking context
Competencies: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end recruitment processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit, and ability to work independently.
- Proven capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility and resilience under pressure, with a track record of delivering on time.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
Language Preference
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English
Specific Educational Qualification
- Minimum bachelor’s degree with concentration in Human Resource Management.
