Purpose of Job

The Analyst, Communications supports the delivery, quality, effectiveness and impact of the Bank’s communications by providing specialist analytical, editorial or programme‑focused support within a defined area of Communications.

Working under guidance, the role contributes to the production, measurement and improvement of communications outputs across internal and external channels. The Analyst applies strong attention to detail, professional judgement and technical or subject‑matter skills to support high‑quality communications delivery in a complex, multinational environment.

The Communications Analyst supports communications activities across media, digital channels and internal channels, helping to promote the EBRD’s work in sub-Saharan Africa. The role focuses on content creation, campaign delivery, media engagement and monitoring, and stakeholder engagement in coordination with central Communications teams, requiring strong organisational skills, creativity and initiative.

Background

The Communications function leads the Bank’s corporate communications, safeguarding its reputation and brand while advancing strategic priorities through effective engagement with internal and external audiences.

Analysts play an essential role in supporting this work by providing specialist input, whether through editorial production, communications performance analysis, or programme‑level communications and visibility. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and confidence working with data, systems, content or stakeholders, depending on the assigned specialism.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

The Analyst, Communications is accountable for the following core responsibilities, applicable across all specialisms:

Communications support and delivery

  • Support the delivery of high‑quality communications outputs aligned with agreed objectives and standards
  • Contribute specialist input to communications products, campaigns or reporting
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency and timeliness in all assigned outputs

Editorial, data or programme support

  • Research, compile, analyse, edit or prepare communications materials as required by the specialism
  • Apply relevant guidelines, standards, templates and quality controls
  • Maintain accurate records, datasets and schedules among others

Planning, coordination and reporting

  • Support planning and coordination of communications activities and workflows
  • Track progress against deadlines and flag risks or issues appropriately
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting of communications activity

Stakeholder interaction

  • Liaise effectively with colleagues across Communications and other departments
  • Engage with external suppliers, partners or stakeholders where required
  • Respond professionally to requests, feedback and queries

Professional conduct

  • Work collaboratively and reliably as part of a wider team
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and attention to detail
  • Uphold the Bank’s values, behavioural competencies and standards of integrity

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • University degree in communications, journalism, international relations or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Relevant professional experience in communications, editorial, media relations and data/analytics
  • Experience working with structured processes, systems or datasets
  • Experience in a multinational, corporate or public‑interest environment desirable

Technical and professional skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills equally in English and in French
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence working with digital tools, platforms or data relevant to the specialism
  • Ability to work independently with guidance and to escalate appropriately
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
