Context
This volunteer opportunity is supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Tunisia as part of the initiative launched in partnership with the UNV in December 2026, aimed at promoting the inclusion of young people through meaningful and impactful volunteer missions with the United Nations.
Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office, and in close collaboration with RCO colleagues, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for:
1. To support the operationalization of UN 2.0 https://un-two-zero.network/ by contributing to data, digital, and innovation related initiatives within the UN Country Team (UNCT), in line with corporate guidance and UNCT priorities.
2. To support the use of digital technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovative solu-tions to strengthen data use, accessibility, and evidence based decision making within the UNCT.
3. To contribute to the integration of data and digital tools into UNCT work processes, includ-ing through the development of user friendly visual products and presentations that re-flect UN 2.0 principles.
4. To support the improvement of data quality, consistency, and usability by contributing to data cleaning, visualization, and documentation processes.
5. To provide support for survey design, assessment preparation, data collection planning, and monitoring activities, including contributions to the development and review of data collection tools and methodologies.
6. To contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of UNCT support materials aimed at enhancing internal collaboration, and work processes, including through AI enabled and technology based solutions.
7. To prepare, review, and update presentations and related materials using digital and AI supported design approaches, ensuring clarity, coherence, functionality, and high visual quality.
8. To apply working knowledge of graphic design tools, including AI enabled applications, in support of communication, and knowledge sharing products of the UNCT.
9. To support the development and implementation of a workplan for the operationalization of UN 2.0.
10. To perform any other related duties, as required.
During the first month of the assignment, the UN Volunteer will work closely with his/her direct supervisor to finalize an agreed-upon work plan. The work plan should outline key objectives and activities and include regular check ins with the supervisor to review progress and receive performance feedback.
