The consultancy will result in a stable, reliable and well-maintained Donor Information Platform whose Azure SQL data warehouse serves beyond the Donor Relations Unit. Data across the platform will remain accurate, structured and up to date, enabling consistent reporting and analysis. A proven, documented model for extending the shared data layer to additional corporate functions will be in place, and a framed interoperability path with the Digital Workspace, developed in coordination with OICT, will position the platform for corporate data and dashboard reporting. Clear documentation and knowledge sharing will ensure continuity and reduce dependency on ad hoc technical support.

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of ensuring adequate shelter, land, and basic services for all. It is the focal point for urbanization and human settlements within the UN system. The Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships Unit within the Office of the Executive Director leads donor engagement, donor intelligence, and resource mobilization efforts for the organization. The Unit works closely with thematic branches and regional offices to ensure effective coordination and alignment with donor priorities. Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships Unit, the consultant will: 1. Maintain and support the Donor Information Platform (DIP) and the Evaluation Portal, ensuring the stability and proper functioning of existing tools and components (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint and Azure SQL). 2. Ensure data quality and integrity through regular cleaning, validation and updates of donor, grant, project and shared reference datasets. 3. Deliver light functional and technical improvements to existing DIP and Evaluation Portal components, including minor feature enhancements, performance optimization and usability adjustments based on user feedback. 4. Extend the shared Azure SQL data layer to additional corporate functions, reusing existing reference data (entities, locations, projects) rather than creating parallel structures, with the Evaluation Portal serving as the replicable model. 5. Monitor and maintain automation workflows, troubleshooting issues and implementing small adaptations to support evolving operational needs. 6. Coordinate with OICT on the interoperability between the DIP and the corporate Digital Workspace and align delivery with UN Secretariat data governance requirements. 7. Produce and update technical documentation on the DIP architecture, data flows and maintenance procedures to support knowledge continuity, and provide technical guidance to team members on effective use of the platform.

A University degree in Data analytics, Computer sciences, Information management or any other related courses is required. A minimum of two years experience in designing and implementing data products, particularly data infrastructure and BI reports is required. Knowledge and experience in using SQL, Python or R for data cleaning, processing and analysis is required. Knowledge and experience developing functions using Microsoft Office applications, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics 365, is desirable.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
