Purpose
Cashier 1 is accountable for the physical processing of cash transactions and the integrity of physical cash balances in a (sub-)delegation, strictly respecting and applying the ICRC's rules on financial management.
Accountabilities & functional responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities:
Cashier (65%)
- Handles the delegation's cash disbursements and payments, including salaries and working advances.
- Prepare invoices for payment (by cash, check or bank transfer).
- Carries out daily cash count and reconciliation.
- Participates in cash-flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity
- Handles cash replenishment from the bank.
- Files and reports on relevant documents.
- Ensure respect for financial procedures and guidelines and explain them to "clients".
- Pay in cash the fully approved invoices, working advances, PDs, salary advances and other payment order in according to the financial rules.
Accountabilities & functional responsibilities
Welcome responsibilities and duties (35%)
Travel, hotel accommodation and event organisation
- Assist Welcome officer in pick-up and accommodation (hotel, apartment, house) for staff and guests.
- Assist mobile and resident staff travel (plane, train, bus, etc.) by the most effective costs/mean and, if required, coordinates drop-off at / pick-up from airports, stations, etc.
- Assist Welcome officer in organizing middle and large events/meetings/seminars (more than 15 pax.), in coordination with the parties concerned.
- Assists Welcome Officer in searching for new venues.
- Assists the Welcome department in all administrative activities as requested.
- Interacts with relevant authorities (ministries, consulates, etc.) regarding certificates, visas, permits, registration, etc.
- Supports the Welcome officer to coordinate with Finance in finalizing invoices, supporting documents and their payments.
- Business cards ordering
- Assists in Handling distribution of mobile phones and follows up their receipt back upon EoM of a Delegate.
Additional Duties
- Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments
- Is aware of the delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position
- Collects and shares information so as to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses
- Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image.

Relationships
- Internally, interacts frequently with all staff members on administration-related matters.
- Externally, interacts with a network of contacts at local level, such as bank representatives and daily workers, under the supervision of the Administration.
Professional experience required
- 2 years' work experience in a similar field.
- Experience of international organizations is preferable.
- Sound knowledge of accounting software.•
Certifications / Education required
• Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting/business administration.
• Good level of written and spoken English.
• Computer proficiency.
