Job Description : Senior Professional , Independent Evaluation Office
IEO is responsible for the independent evaluations of NDB-financed projects and programmes and related activities. The Director General (DG) of IEO reports directly and exclusively to the NDB’s Board of Directors (BoD).
The Senior Professional works under the immediate supervision of DG IEO. H/she is responsible for: managing and coordinating IEO’s knowledge and outreach activities; work programme and budget preparation, implementation, and reporting; financial and travel management; and supporting the DG IEO in overall office management.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of IEO’s annual work programme and budget for approval by the BoD.
- Prepare IEO’s internal division of responsibilities and work planning, to support the timely and effective delivery of the approved annual work programme.
- Monitor the implementation of IEO’s work programme, key deliverables and performance indicators, identify emerging operational issues or implementation bottlenecks, and facilitate appropriate follow-up.
- Monitor IEO’s budget, including planning, commitments, expenditures, forecasts, accruals and utilization, and maintain appropriate systems and trackers to support effective resource management.
- Prepare periodic operational, budget and performance updates, management briefs, presentations and other materials to support the DG IEO’s oversight and decision-making.
- Coordinate IEO’s operational requirements, including procurement, consultant engagements, staffing-related processes, missions, travel and other administrative and logistical arrangements.
- Support the continuous improvement of IEO’s internal business processes, workflows, planning tools, document management and reporting systems to enhance operational efficiency and institutional effectiveness.
- Coordinate IEO’s knowledge-sharing and outreach activities, ensuring that evaluation findings, lessons and knowledge are effectively captured, packaged and disseminated to relevant audiences.
- Manage IEO’s publication workflow, coordinating editing, design, translation, production, website publication and dissemination, while ensuring consistency, quality and timely delivery.
- Coordinate the dissemination of IEO documents, including reports, evaluation LENS, infographics, presentations, digital content and other materials.
- Serve as IEO’s focal point for coordination with the Corporate Communications Division on relevant communication, outreach, digital content and dissemination activities.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of IEO workshops and seminars, including logistical, administrative and communications support, such as event materials, press releases and related communications.
- Facilitate coordination between IEO and other NDB departments and functions, including the Corporate Secretariat and relevant corporate and operational units, to ensure timely follow-up on institutional requirements and deliverables.
- Conduct research and analytical work, as required, to support DG IEO, operational planning and decision-making.
- Undertake other responsibilities as required by the DG IEO to support the effective functioning of the Office.
Position requirements

- Master’s degree in international relations, finance, economics, communication, or other related fields
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant full- time professional experience in a related field or experience in MDBs, IFIs, UN organizations, or government institutions
- Experience in work programme and budget management, knowledge sharing, outreach and communication, inter-departmental coordination, stakeholder management, organization of seminars, and office management
- Experience in publication production processes, knowledge management, events coordination, administrative tasks, budget management, interdepartmental coordination, stakeholder management.
- Skilled in a variety of computer applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point and others.
- Language requirements: Fluency in English. Knowledge of another language from an NDB member country is desirable.
