The ETC reports to the Practice Manager. S/he is expected to work on transport projects on urban mobility, land transport, regional connectivity and logistics. The transport portfolio in Mozambique currently consists of one Bus Rapid Transit project and three road projects, while the engagement in the region also includes port and airport projects in Madagascar and Mauritius.
The objectives of the assignment will be to:
•Contribute to technical, economic, financial, climate, gender, road safety, and operational analysis, including data collection activities such as traffic counts, road condition assessment, and socioeconomic data, to inform project design, implementation, and policy engagement support.
•Provide inputs to, or prepare, operational and analytical outputs including aide memoires, management letters, ISRs, project documents, briefings, reports, case studies, data analysis, technical drawings, maps, and presentations.
Selection Criteria
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in the transport sector or a related infrastructure field (with a government transport authority, contractor(s), design or supervision consultant(s), or development institutions, or international financial institution), with exposure to one or more of the following:
(a) transport infrastructure design or planning;
(b) civil works contract management and execution;
(c) procurement of civil works and consultancy contracts;
(d) sustainable transport infrastructure asset management; and
(e) economic, social, and environmental impact of infrastructure investments;
• Familiarity with transport policy, strategy, institutions, and regulation at national or international level, as a foundation for analytical support to senior staff;
• Familiarity with transport modeling or engineering economics, particularly as applied to transport demand modeling, corridor analysis and infrastructure investment appraisal, is a desirable asset;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese; French is an additional asset.
