The Security Coordinator coordinates and supervises day-to-day security operations at CIMMYT Headquarters, ensuring adequate staffing, continuity of security services, and consistent application of established security procedures and standards. The role supervises Shift Security Supervisors and Security Agents, monitors site security conditions and compliance, coordinates incident-related activities, and provides operational information and recommendations to Security Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate security workforce schedules and coverage for CIMMYT Headquarters, managing shifts, leave, absences and shift changes to ensure adequate and continuous staffing.
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of Shift Security Supervisors and, through them, Security Agents, ensuring appropriate work allocation, compliance with assigned duties and established procedures, and respectful and effective working relationships

  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and performance management of security personnel in coordination with Security Management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide operational guidance to security personnel and coordinate the appropriate use of human and material resources required for daily security operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Security Management, Criminology, Public Safety, Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible experience in physical security, corporate security or site-security operations, including experience coordinating or supervising security personnel.
  • Experience with shift-based security operations, access control, security patrols, incident reporting and implementation of established security procedures.
  • Experience supporting security risk analyses and incident investigations is desirable
  • Ability to organize shift-based security operations and maintain adequate staffing and service continuity.
