Your team
You will be part of the Enterprise Services Division in the Directorate General Information Systems. Our Directorate General provides innovative, flexible and secure IT solutions that enable the staff of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European System of Central Banks to carry out their daily tasks. In addition to running and maintaining more than 100 available services, it is also responsible for the IT Governance frameworks. In the Enterprise Services Division, we maintain cross-functional applications (e.g. SAP), ensuring that the ECB's enterprise services run smoothly, and we provide support to all ECB staff.
In your role as an ERP Finance IT Specialist, you will be part of a team of seven staff members responsible for SAP Finance and Logistics processes and their underlying infrastructure. You will work closely with colleagues in Finance, Administration and other business areas.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As an ERP Finance IT Specialist, you will:
-customise, maintain and further develop the processes established in the SAP CO and PSM-FM modules;
-develop and configure the ECB’s financial year-end processes in SAP S/4HANA and modules like CO;
-maintain and implement the ECB’s budget planning and execution processes in PSM-FM;
-coordinate the integration with other SAP and non-SAP systems;
-liaise with colleagues in the Directorate Finance regarding day-to-day operations of budget planning and cost monitoring processes;
-engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Chief Services Office areas to implement decentralised budget-related business processes;
-explore new technologies, with a focus on AI, to further optimise budget, administrative and controlling processes.
For this role we are seeking candidates who demonstrate the potential for growth, and we will support the selected candidate in their development of the required skills.
We actively support professional development for our staff. Besides learning opportunities such as training and mentoring, we encourage and support horizontal mobility after some years in the same position.
The position offers you an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with SAP’s latest technologies while helping to shape the future of the ECB's SAP landscape. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
-a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Business Administration, other fields in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
-in addition to the above, a minimum of two years’ experience (including internships) in the field of IT;
-sound understanding of the SAP portfolio, product strategy and technologies, including cloud computing, Joule, RISE with SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, S/4HANA, BW and ABAP development;
-an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- experience in SAP support, customising and ABAP development;
-knowledge of the following SAP modules: SAP FI, CO and PSM-FM;
-knowledge of controlling and financial budgeting processes.
You engage collaboratively with others. You pursue team goals and learn willingly from other people’s diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. You analyse complex information effectively and can evaluate different views to arrive at solutions. You know and anticipate stakeholder needs.
You are motivated to contribute to the ECB’s mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe.
You are motivated to be part of our team and to develop and use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
You are aware of your strengths and areas for development and know what motivates you to perform at your highest level.
Working modalities
To enable the Division to maintain its business continuity capability, you will occasionally be expected to perform work during non-standard working hours.
